Lets fix a drill! I have had very few problems with my Milwaukee tools in the years that I have owned them, however one weak area that they have is the trigger. The trigger sticks and in some cases it will simply not work. This is a simple fix and hopefully it will help you get your drill back in working order.

Excellent! I see this is quite old, but so is my Hammer Drill! It has been flawless for about 9 years now and this exact problem showed up, so hats off to you. Of course I had to keep going and bought the new brushless stubby version. Now I will have a good back up!

You said the reversing switch is not glass fiber reinforced, but you can see the embossing on the part >PA6-GF30< which stands for poly amide 6 with glass fiber %30 reinforcing. Either way adding some heat lets it mold back to shape pretty well

Sep. 2021 I just bought the M18 MILWAUKEE 2802 and comparing it with another that I have the Brushless 1/2 Makita 18v Dhp485sye, the MILWAUKEE 2802 is louder, the motor whistles, it heats up more, the battery does not fit at all, the charger seems iron but as a positive point It has a better Chuck, it feels powerful, 5-year warranty, it looks well manufactured. Between MILWAUKEE and Makita the power seems similar, at the moment I prefer the makita since the motor is quieter, the motor and charger hardly get hot, time will tell if the heating in the MILWAUKEE is a problem or not. It has cost me USD$185, winning the makita for USD$12 dlls less. I hope my comments contribute something positive to your purchases.

My switch was making either direction of the "slide" to make it go either direction only spin in one direction. Now the switch does not make the chuck spin at all. The led lights up but the chuck doesn't spin. I'll have to open mine up too. Mine is a 2704-20 Milwaukee drill. It is brand new too. Only used a handful of times!

I have the Milwaukee M18. I've only had it for about 6 months I thought it was the best drill in the world until today when mine quit. I know I'll never buy another Milwaukee. And I sure as hell am not going to take the time to take it all apart. I'll go by a different. Brand

@@samr2550 It is not Milwaukee, whom cause the problem. If you purchased a used item, usually they are beat and, well abused. Therefore, the previous owner sells, before they have a problem. Other times, they are pieced together parts and pieces, from dead ones you see for sale on Ebay or, factory sales of returns. If you're looking to have it repaired, I hate being a whore on here and, if it is not allowed; I fully understand and accept, your removing this post. However, in the event you'd like it looked at for repair, feel free to message me and, we can discuss terms. Thank you.

Sir, I'm sorry you had such an issue. I think shipping and then, return shipping between the USA and Viet Nam, would be quite expensive. However, if you feel it would be financially feasible, to do so? I would be glad to look at it and, try to repair it for you. Best wishes, from Pennsylvania, USA.

Sorry I missed your question. I have not been able to fix the impact driver because the motor was actually what died with it. I may try to post a video on how to troubleshoot whether it is the motor or switch. This is the busy season for my work so it gets tough to find the time to make videos to post. I will message you though once I get it up!

Impact drill trigger went out a few minutes ago. Its intermitent and its unacceptable. Look s to be a common design error on Millwakee. Should have stuck with Dewalt. It doesn''t matter if they will repair it. It will be even worse if they dont' The drill now sucks ass as it cantt be relied on for more than a year with that crap rtrigger they have designed into it. Nice job malwakee you guys let me down. Need to sell two drills one brushless cordless worm drive. Fool me once.... Triger needs to work withotu question everytime. Period. Too many people share this problem and Millwakee is well aware of it by now yet they keep selling the faulty drills. WHat kind morrons think that is going to be exceptable for a professional grade tool. My dewalt lasted 14 years without so much as a hickup. Ever. In rain in mud, you name it it worked solid and then the gears finally burnt out last year. Millwakee is overpriced and yet they cant even make a triggger that lasts a year. My model not faulty it just the way it was designed. Unbeleivable you dumb sh'ts at milwakee. I liked the brushless saw but where one cordless goes they all must go - one battery type is the requirement and if you cant be trusted to make a drill that works then all of it must be replaced with a brand that doesn't have this shortcomming. ANyone that disagrees with that doesn't use their tools at a professional level and doesn't know what they are talking about. Squeez trigger, drill spools up - thats it thats how it must work; nothing short of that is usuable, anything short of that is junk and less than zero.. Millwakee just became that worthless cordless setup for me. If you are thinking about buying into this system.. dont. Its no good. Repairing a trigger every year..well you get the idea. Sorry Millwakee but you failed big time and there is no reason to beleive you give even half a sh't. If you did my less than year old drill would have never been an issue. You guys suck and we have nothing more to say I guess. $800 worth of crap - all of it out of pocket. Thanks for that one. Stick with sawalls and leave the rest up to companies that don't put faulty designs on the assmebly line. Rant off. Have a nice day you morons

I was having this issue on my non-brushless impact drill/driver (2602-20) and assumed it was a trigger issue. At least in my case, it was due to the brush housing on the back of the drill. When I loosened the cover on the back about 1/32" it works fine every time (after I shimmed it in place). When I press the housing back against the brush mechanism, the light comes on but the drill does nothing. Hope this helps some others that have had this issue.

@@NuclearPower45 I just got here for the first time, this evening to, try to get a tip on repairing a trigger I have to repair. In your case, with a Milwaukee and with all manufacturers; 1- Remove the brush retainer. (Maybe called another name.) 2- Inspect for cracks and, look for any distortion. 3- In the event there is distortion, like twist, bending or, crook? Warm it slightly, with a regular hair dryer. 4- Inspect the back of the Field, or wherever the brush retainer seats, to see what caused the distortion. 5- Shim, epoxy or silicone the brush retainer so that, it is lever but, mot off the path of the brushes on the armature. 6- Slightly, very slightly try to tighten the brush springs. Reassemble the unit and, it should work as good, as brand new.
