There is a commonly reported problem across many Brother laser printers where the No Toner error is reported when power is reinstated after being lost without the printer being shutdown first. It seems to be independent of cartridge age or use; it may also be triggered in other scenarios but the key thing is that it was previously working fine and suddenly stops with a No Toner error. Certainly check contacts, cycle power, etc but if all the simple solutions fail the most reliable solution appears to be to replace the battery (AG0 / 379) located under the small contacts circuit board on the problem toner cartridge(s) which can be identified by an X above the colour(s) in Brother's Status Monitor app. Some report that simply removing the battery and reinserting the same battery can fix the problem, other times a new battery is needed. Recommend shutting the printer down and removing its power lead before removing the toner cartridge(s) as this gives the most reliable resolution when the printer is powered back on.

Brother HL-L3210CW color laser printer + "no toner" error -> remove and re-insert the batteries of the toner chips. the batteries are located below the four-pin gold/green connector board. i had to do this only for yellow + magenta + cyan toners, black was ok. (i had no success messing with the plastic gears)

I tried to do this and it did not work. I have the same HL-L3210CW. Do you have any other suggestions or details? Did you turn on the printer without the cartridges and then reinsert the cartridges?

i had to repeat the fix, after my printer did automatic shutdown, after it was idle for 2 hours auto shutdown can be disabled in menu > general > eco > auto power off > off on my first try, the fix did not work, i still got the "no toner" error on my second try, i removed the batteries for a longer time, say 15 seconds. then it worked you may need to remove/re-insert the toner, maybe one or two times, then it should work the fix must be repeated every time after the printer was in shutdown or standby the fix is only needed for the 3 color toners. the black toner also has a chip + battery but the battery cannot be removed, it is soldered into the circuit
