Huge thank you to Bic for his help and advice he is the man in the know check out his insta @bro4mance bro4mance
I have a problem with oil pressure, when the car gets up to temp the oil warning light and buzzer comes on the dash, it started only doing it for a split second until now it remains on for prolonged periods. With some advice from Bik at my local test station, I ran an engine flush through the engine, I then removed the sump and checked that the pick up wasn't blocked, and then I replaced the oil pressure sensor. I left the oil pressure sensor til last as I knew this was going to be the hardest job of it all.
The engine flush and checking the oil pick up was vey straight forward and didn't take long, however getting to the oil pressure sensor is a bit of a pig to get at. I put the front of the golf into service mode, took maybe 20 minutes, then I removed the rad pack fans to gain a bit more room. Once I was happy I had enough room I was able to remove the oil filter housing from the block, I could then undo the electrical connect/plug from the sensor. I then release the oil filter housing from the oil cooler, and i was then able to lower the oil filter housing unit to the ground. Once it was on the bench it took less than 1 minute to swap the sensors over. It was then a case of reinstalling everything in the reverse order. All in all a few hours to do the oil flush and check the pickup pipe, then 4 hours doing the sensor. Now I know what I'm doing I could probably do a sensor in a few hours, so most likely this being a 2/3 hour job.
