Oh and did not need to desolder anything. Just cut/broke off the original swivel arm and made sure to not damage the wire. Headphone is working great now!

good video, but i think if the music background volume bit lower is quite nice, because sometimes hardly to hear your voice because of the music... how to repair short circuit on this headphone sir? mine got poured by starbuck tea.. its just fine until next month.. automatic on off and bluetooth pairing after that (sorry for bad english) i hope you can help me:(

Replaced my broken hinge, the wires wasnt a problem. the hardest part form me was soldering off the wires....

Garrett, thank you for posting this. very helpful in replacing broken hinge on my son's Sony headphones. I have the wire all rerouted through the new hinge, but when I went to remove the old wire remnants and re-attach the wires, I found my soldering iron would not melt the solder to the liquid state. Is there a certain type of soldering iron and type of solder I should be using that gets hot enough to liquefy the existing solder? Appreciate your help!

The headband part itself is $43.18 plus the cost of tools if you do not already own them. and I suck at soldering.... especially fine wires like that. So I guess that I'm going to have to get creative with fixing my headphones without all of the disassemblies and desoldering and resoldering of wires There's a good possibility Sugru moldable glue will work....

I have no idea what is going on in this video since i couldn't hear any of the words, but y'know how the other headphone cup, the one that that the guy isn't messing with, has that dangly thing going on? Very disappointed with Sony for crappy plastic that breaks so easy. I am looking for how to repair the broken parts. Over $300 for the new unit and $100 sunk into parts and I am making no progress. .

Hey, I know I'm late in the game, but with COVID-19, I wanted to pull my old headphones out cause the rest of the people in t he house don't want to hear what I'm listening to. Guess what, I can't get my phone to do the NFC connect, and I can't get the laptop to recognize the headphones are right in front of it. As a matter of fact, no matter how long I press the power button, not blue light, bluetooth signal ever shows up. BUT, if I plug the sucker in with the earphones I hear something. Not sure if its one speaker working only or what. Do I throw these out and give up using them and buy something else to keep the peace in the house. I need the mobility to move around and not be tethered to the laptop or phone. Help please!

I was trying to replace a broken cosmetic piece from my MDR-XB950BT but, when I the LEFT speaker, I did it harder and faster so, the cables from speaker where desolded from the motherboard. The problem is that I don't know where the cables should be welded. Can anyone refer a tutorial or share a couple of pics to know what to do?

Too bad they are built so poorly, tiny (I'm talking 2mm wide x 1mm tall) hollow cheap plastic tube is all that holds the ear cups to the head band. They invariably break there.
