In my kia Sportage 2009 while in highway check engine light and after few minutes oil lamp light...soon i stop checked the oil level was normal but the oil look dirty.. computer check was p0011...i drained oil with 10min motul flush...used original filter, 5w30 SN GF5 100% synthetic oil...no more check light...thanks

Hi Joe, we suggest to start by checking the condition of the intake valve timing control solenoid valve and camshaft position sensor's harnesses for short/open. Check also its circuits for poor electrical connection.

Hello, we recommend a digital multimeter as it provide more accurate readings and it's much easier to read.

If you are using a DVOM then it is probably auto ranging, which means you just set to Ohms and it will display the range on its own. If your meter is not auto ranging than I would start at the lower setting.(Been years since I had a non-auto ranging meter)

Hey Steve so I have a 2015 Chevy equinox. I have the p0011 and 10 codes I’ve replaced both of them, oil change, and the check engine light won’t go away. I’ve even cleared both codes with and Obd scanner and it pops back up any advice?

Hi Steve. Great video. I have a P0011 code on my 2014 Q50 Inifiniti. I messed up and let the oil get low. I change the oil and filters but now when I accelerate and it get’s to RPM 2.5 it jerks/ stutters. Its having a hard time shifting. So in order for me to shift I have to use manual and not let it touch 2.5 or lift of the gas and shift it that way. I told it to the Infiniti dealership but they said they would have to take it entirely apart and that would be $6000. Have you ever heard of this happening? Can you please respond.

@@natsumatsu879 i had this issue w my 350z, if u keep your oil level at a desired level it will fix it. It did that to me when i had this issue and it would shift like shit, you either have a bad vvt valve or youre too low on oil.

Hi Egiber, it's an adjustable oil filter wrench that you can purchase online or on your local hardware stores.

Most guys call them oil filter claws, and they come in very handy. I have used my Craftsman one for going on ten years, professionally, and I have not had an issue with it. Auto parts stores carry them too.

Hi i have vauxhall astra 1.4 turbo 67 plate. On the dashboard it says engine power reduce and engine light comes on. When you drive sometimes it goes off. And it comes back on. What can it be ? The sensor got replaced as garage thought it was the sensor and they reset the light. But it still came on with the same warning sign engine power reduced. Please help me

@nondainc Hi Steve. I have a 2019 Kodiaq 1.5 TSI DADA engine. I am getting P0011 code only on cold engine (oil temp lower than 60 degrees). Car used to drive on 5w40 and 5w30 oil, recently changed to 0w20. Problem popped up only 2 months ago, and is still there after oil change. Cleaning the solenoid magnet and oil control valve did not help. Would you advise replacing either of the two (if so - which one would you replace first)? There is another control valve inside the intake camshaft but it is very difficult to get to. On live data I notice an additional strange thing. When driving on cold engine, after engine Start/Stop shutdown, the specified value for intake camshaft gets "stuck" at 8.7 degrees, while actual value cycles between 8.7 and 12.0 degrees. Pressing the accelerator does not alter the specified value sent by ECU. After a few seconds, it gets "unstuck" and specified starts reacting to changes in driving behavior and actual value follows specified more closely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I can share graphs if needed. Thanks a ton for your help!

@@nondainc confirmed. There are codes triggered on adaptive cruise control, but more as a consequence to this code being triggered. It’s 19233 P0011 code. And I can clearly see on live chart data that actual value for intake camshaft adjuster deviated significantly >20 degrees) from specified value for a few seconds during driving cycle. Sometimes several times in a row. But this only happens on cold engine, never (so far in 3 month) on warm engine.

Hey getting P0011 and P0021 on Nissan Murano 2009 changed vvt and camshaft sensors. Car barely wants to start and when it does doesn’t want to move in drive and slowly moves in reverse. Would definitely appreciate a response haven’t tried anything in this video yet but apparently the problem started after an oil change so I’m thinking they put conventional or the wrong oil or something.

Hello, getting both of these codes signifies an issue with the variable valve timing control system. We suggest checking the wiring to the camshaft oil control valve, timing chain alignment and the camshaft phasers for any issues. Also, the oil viscosity might be incorrect.

Actually, there are various reasons. But we couldn't pinpoint for sure as your vehicle should be visually inspected. Either you may have faulty spark plugs, dirty fuel injectors, or leaky vacuum hose.
