Oh nice to see that. Would love if there is something like that to be found for star ocean the divine force and stranger of paradise as most content about those games is dated and they didn't seem to run well. Good content, thank you!

With all the progress made in Proton, there's a very good chance they run now. I've had similar experiences with older games. If I ever pick them up, I'll try tinkering with them and see if I can get them running.

Wow, this is amazing! Is this kind of thing common? And what I mean is, is it common for games that are officially unsupported actually supported for the Deck from other people coming up with ways to make it work? Glad that you could get it working!

The Deck and Linux in general tend to attract a lot of tinkerers and users who like looking for solutions to problems, so it is very common for the community to find fixes first. Games being unplayable with the main Proton distribution but running with GE Proton (a more experimental distribution) is somewhat common. It's not as common these days with Valve contributing so much to the main distribution, but particularly in the early days of the Deck, having GE installed as well was considered a necessity. However, a game running only with a specific version of GE and not the most recent version is quite rare.

No problem! It's such an obscure fix yet is so simple and effective. I hope the video helps other users find it too, as the game really is a good match for the Deck.
