By carrier number do you mean the imei? Bc if so if you have an iPhone, you can go to Settings>General and then scroll down until you see the imei. They also have other things on there about your phone.

just because you werent in a contract doesnt mean you had an unlocled iphone, most iphones are locked with a carrier, like mine is locked with total wireless or straight talk, verizon and att&t work together and most are unlocked, sprint will made you go thru hell trying to unlock one of their iphones

Update!!! The moron who sold me my IPhone sold me one that was locked. Even though I told him several times that I needed an unlocked phone and he assured me that it was unlocked. I’m gonna kick his ass once I get back to the states. To unlock it you need to find out which company it is locked with, I went to the apple store and they looked it up for me. T-Mobile was the one that had mine locked so they unlocked it. It takes a couple of days for them to do it.
