How To Fix Tail Light Condensation on BMW F22(2017 M240i) For $5!

Unable to find any videos on how to fix condensation problems for the F22, I figured I’d make a video of my procedure in attempting to permanently fix condensation in my 2017 M240i. Apparently this is a common issue but even on forums are mostly people saying they got them replaced with warranty but not too much information on how to fix the issue as it will likely happen again eventually with a new tail-light. I hope this video helps someone and serves as a discussion in the comments regarding these matters.

At about 2:05 into video: '.....do not remove this or remove this, it's in here to stay....'; camera pointing to two separate plugs and then never addresses this issue again until near the end of the video when he refers to the wire plug as 'this bad boy'. Well yay, literally, leaves one in the dark about 'bad boy'. Not very helpful for someone who needs to remove and replace the entire assembly.

If you need to change the bulbs, hou you going to get them apart again?

The silicone caulk isn't incredibly sticky. If you need to remove it will peel off relatively easily.

I would use dielectric silicone grease as i have just done. It doesnt set

Ya it's extremely common on this chassis unfortunately.

It hasn’t been an issue. It’s odd because a couple days after I did this job I tested it by taking my car to a touch free auto wash and I got just the smallest amount of condensation but it evaporated by the morning. But I haven’t noticed any condensation since then.
