quick note it is probably having issues because it is not in specific folder. the luncher has to be in the default folder which is c drive program file 86. Just uninstall it after going to control panel and reinstall. DO NOT Make any changes let it be in default folder.

I don't have a Social Club folder at C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games. ANd same problem and when I start GTA V, it says Unable to launch game.

Ok so, shitty work around but, delete the launcher then open gta ittl install the launcher for you. Then open the launcher as soon as it’s open turn off your internet, it might close but keep doing it till it offers you to restart, turn your internet back on and click restart, and the launcher should come up

@@TechSwishGamer7 try it Found a fix after hours of troubleshooting. So the launcher is trying to install Social Club, but failing. I'm not sure why. What I did was install social club manually from C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher\Redistributables\SocialClub After installing it, you should try to open Rockstar Games Launcher, and when it asks for admin prevgiles for some sort of SDK, press no. It'll try like 3 times each time press no, and boom, it works. I know it's a sketchy fix but it was the only thing that fixed it

What worked for me was manually installing social club in: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher\Redistributables\SocialClub\Social-Club-Setup.exe and then when turning on rockstar games launcher when SDK install asks to run as administrator just click no 2 times ;))

what fixed it for me was undoing all of these changes he did in the video (after i had already done them from watching this video) and manually installed social club from the fresh download in the social club section

For those with this error, ensure that the Rockstar game library service is enabled; otherwise, this message will appear. It doesn't matter how many times you reinstall it or run everything as an administrator; it will not work.

EASY SOLUTION FOR ME Uninstall the launcher, install the launcher. As soon as it opens watch it, it will say connecting to rockstar games services. As soon as it switches to updating launcher, turn off your WiFi or unplug Ethernet. Wait for it to say “rockstar games launcher has failed to update” Then turn WiFi back on or plug Ethernet back in, and wait for it to fully connect and then click continue!

Right-click the Rockstar Games Launcher shortcut on your desktop and select Properties  Select Compatibility  Select Change settings for all users  Select Run this program as an administrator   Select OK

Don't just select "C:\Program Files (x86)"!!! This will cause the installer to dump all rockstar launcher files into the "C:\Program Files (x86)" which is dumb!! You MUST add a subfolder after the "C:\Program Files (x86)" i.e. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Launcher". And why would we have to run a game using admin mode?! That is so risky! What are these game developers thinking?! BTW, allowing all programs to run with admin mode still doesn't work for me. What the hell is Rockstar doing?!
