FX Tracks has Lego compatible tracks with all kinds of radius. Even for the Lego 9V.

They sell similar radius which costs €63 for 8 pieces so €7,87 per piece. You can buy Lego curved track for around 20-25 cents and with the cost of glue, they will cost around 30 cents. So this means modified Lego track is 26x cheaper. Maybe 2600% is more impressive. I have bought the Pfx brick and shipping from Canada was pretty expensive.

FX Tracks are with metal. You mean TrixBrix. Injection moulded tracks (no 3D print) with different radius

@@thomasl.4081 Trixbrix is about 3 euro per (large) curve, still expensive. They do look very nice though.

Interesting but very time-intensive solution. Much easier: There are already some providers who sell other curve radius, such as. R56, R72 etc. (Bluebrixx, TrixBrix)

Interesting but very expensive solution. Much more expensive: There are some providers who sell similar radius like TrixBrix who sell a R56 180 turn for 40 euro. But my modified R56 180 turn costs 3,50 euro. So that's more than 10x more expensive..... I rather spend my money on other Lego than expensive track.

@@legotechnictrains8999 yes, TrixBrix is very expensive. FxTracks much more expensive, but 9v tracks. But for your solution you need tracks too AND superglue, epoxit-glue and many time. So my compromise would be bluebrixx... a full circle R56 costs 27 euro. But i like your idea for special radus and compensating pieces.

@@JeyBeeHH 27 euro PLUS 5 euro shipping haha. You know, I am Dutch so maybe that's the problem (and solution). Let's say Bluebrix was only 2x as expensive as Lego, the full circle would cost 5,75. You wonder why Lego doesn't offer more radius tracks. I guess that would mean they would confirm the standard track is not perfect. When the covid lockdown started I had so much time to modify tracks haha. So then I would fix 15-20 pieces in one go. But now I only have a Technic train track so the brick train track is stored away. I actually still have around 150 straight track pieces in the boxes it arrived in. Btw did you see the Uphill Carousel at the end of the video?

@@legotechnictrains8999 Ok the shippingcost i dont have in germany, because they have a store in my city. Btw. Original Lego R40 track costs 20 euro for with only 4 curved tracks (+8 straigt & 8 flex tracks) also 1 euro/part. Used original track much cheaper. So everyone should decide for themselves. Cheap and time consuming, or pay a little more but no work. There are also people who like or can't do handicrafts.

@@JeyBeeHH well after my video I guess the hospitals will be busy haha I wonder how many track pieces I can do in the time that you buy tracks in your city. Do you go by bike or car? Otherwise you also need to include gas money and maybe parking costs haha.

This is nice. Here In Germany, the company BlueBrixx is selling curved tracks with 40 studs radius (Lego Standard, 13,95€/16pc = full circle), 56 studs radius (26,95€/16pc = full circle) and 72 studs radius (34,95€/32pc = full circle). Better than nothing but if you need special curves for extrem custom builds yours is a good idea. Edit: 72 Studs Radius is a diameter of about 114,75cm

have you considered creating a Jig for your Jigsaw to do this rather than the mark then rough saw method?

These were probably the last Lego tracks that I will modify because I build Technic Trains these days. But I thought it might be nice to share.

Very nice outcome, but indeed pretty labour intensive. Might even be worth considering a 3d printer? May not be faster, but at least more gentle on your fingers XD

Thx for all you do, if you lay some wax(ed) paper down under your track it won't stick to the table.

The cleaning the fuzzels part would annoy me aswell, would just buy another new toilet burst cleaner and put it on my drill and go over it.

Hey man, I subbed for your awesome technic trains but this is also a really interesting idea. Thanks for making this. I think this is a little too much work tho, isn‘t there any alternative radius track one could buy?
@legotechnictrains8999
@legotechnictrains8999 Жыл бұрын
Sure, there are alternatives but they are 20-30x more expensive. And I guess a lot of people have a bunch of curved pieces already so it's only the cost of glue and some sandpaper.

The FX brick track has a metal top so it has other qualities, but the price difference is a bit extreme. People will buy them anyway I guess.
