How to fix Windows 10 Gaming Headset Issues | 7.1 Surround Sound

In this video I briefly show how to fix a somewhat common issue that can affect gameplay audio when using a headset with 7.1 Doubly Surround Sound.

Dude thank you so much! There is a bug on windows 10 with usb headsets, that it thinks they are 7.1 surround speakers and you can't change it to stereo in the settings, causing issues in many games such as Far cry 6 where I would only hear some of the sounds. This allowed me to bypass that bug, thank you!!

Thank you! After 1 month of hearing that it's a "Wire or Auxiliary port" problem from every article, or that it's a problem with the software that is apparently "unfixable" this finally fixed it. I mean, It's still finnicky, but it only takes me a minute of troubleshooting (pressing buttons randomly) as opposed to it never being fixed no matter how much I yell at it to.

I reduced my Game Speakers Volume to 50% and now I'm fine, when I was at 100% it was reproducing like a background noise ( directly from the HeadSets ) when I activated the 7.1 Surround. I was using 0.1 volume on CS:GO, now, I raise it to 0.3 volume and it's the same, without back noise comming from the Game Speakers.

Yes yes yes. Thanks a lot man, this fixed everything for me. I had issues in rocket league not hearing my eninge sound, and I also had problems in Skyrim where the surround souns was super weird. You dont know how happy I am now. Thanks again!!!

Does it fix 3D sound effect ? I got a Jabra 370, and as soon as I launch a game with voice chat possible, the headset say "muted" and I lose this 3D effect... Even without the game launched, if the headset is in "on call" estate or I dont know how to call it, then I lose the 3D effect.

It didn't work as well for me, Its about the Headphones Corsair HS45 Surround 7.1 dont recognize trough USB . (The error code is 43 USB device returned an invalid USB configuration descriptor.) If somebody can helps please let me know! Thanks for the help anyway

It worked for me. im only using "VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device" my headset is HS65 surround. My issue is: I couldnt listen if i came from a streaming source as torrent (stremio or/and vlc) and only a pop or static noise. I can still use iCue and continue using the EQ

I am using the Samsung AKG Y500 Wireless with a Bluetooth adapter on my pc, but whenever I open GTA V for someone odd reason I can't hear sound at all, I can't hear KZbin videos, discord or the game and I am not sure why ? Edit: The sound will eventually work and sometimes even work then cut off

Thank you! With my situation, I had a really good pair of headphones for a few years, but the left speaker went out, so I picked up a pair of Somic headphones as a replacement. The new pair are great, but the default sound is really low and muffled without using the equalizer and enhancement settings, and as a side consequence the desktop audio became low and sounded like a tin can, so while everything in my headphones sounded fine, anything I would try to record would sound like trash, so installing this helped. ^_^

Make sure you did that last step of having your headset listen to the VB audio device. If its not monitoring the VB audio then you will not hear any output. Hope this helps.

Tried it, didn't fix my problem! My "game" audio works for steel series, however the "chat" audio when I try to switch to it makes my audio not work and my youtube videos "freeze". Not sure how to get it to work, might be my actual PC audio drivers.

I came across how i found out what the issue was plugged the 3.56 mm in the back of the PC worked perfect.. then toke the 3.5mm plugged it back in USB didnt work.......
