OMG!!!!!!!! My site went white yesterday and I was trying ALL DAY to get someone to help me on the forums. I didnt know where to start. In a comment someone said they had a white screen. So i search on youtube white screen word press. THERE YOU WERE!! Explaining it all for me to fix my site. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I was in despair and was about to quit and pay someone to fix it. It works like charm. I was stuck at a blank screen for about 3 days. I tried and changed more than 4 themes. The same blank screen with only words. I watched your video yesterday and followed through. Where you replace 'false' with 'true', I just removed the space and boom. My site was back. Thank thank thank so much. Can I use your manual method to troubleshoot a problem since upgrading to WordPress 5? My problem is when. Go to edit one of my pages, I get a white screen instead of the Gutenberg editor. I can edit the page in elementor but I would love to solve the Gutenberg issue. I tried disabling all plugins. Didn't work. Installing the classic editor did work.

Actually, I had a problem on a client's site no later than yesterday... I think that what happened is that WP has auto updated to 4.9.7 and for a strange reason, it has wiped my wp-config.php file (was there, but empty)... Fortunately, I had a backup with the file in it, so I just copied back the content and the site was working again... Strange that it did that... So, always do regular backups...!

Hmm, have iThemes installed as well... So, it might be the faulty one (instead of WP alone)... What's strange is that I updated multiple sites at the same time (with mainWP) and it's the only one who had that problem...

In my case, I have a complicated setup and iThemes is not smart enough to be aware. I am using Redis which requires some extra stuff in the wp-config. So after an update it just trashes it.

@@WPCrafter That's just the thing, I don't have a back up. 😊 I know that's going to sting you, coz I follow your tutorials and I know how much you emphasize on having a back up. But I hope it helps to know it wasn't intentional. The site affected is actually a subdomain and my web hosting couldn't support a back up. I tried to do it but I ended up overloading the host and affected all the other sites. So I deleted the back up. I figured since I couldn't back up, I'd just have to be really careful with the sites. So that's how I ended up not having a back up. Isn't there any other way? I'd hate to have to lose the site. Is it possible to revert to a former version of WordPress where the changes haven't taken effect? Or can I somehow get rid of the malware? I know it's a plugin that's caused the damage. It happened right after I installed it. I've gotten rid of it but the error is still there on the post.php file.

Please note that each free hosting account has daily CPU, hits, RAM, I/O, and Entry process limits. During each day we record all of these usage stats. It is quite normal for a website to utilise daily limits as PHP scripts can use a lot of server resources, especially if you have multiple PHP scripts and websites in your free hosting account. Your account was suspended because you hit the CPU Limit .
