I had the same problem. Series x wont login too xbox live. I disconnect my router. Put the cable from my mediabox directly too my series x and the problem was gone. After that i put my router on my series x and everything works fine. It is a router issue

So I just fixed the issue. No deleting anything, no settings changes, all I did was re-download the account without deleting it. The account was already there when I pressed “play online” and it asked me to choose the account to sign in with. I got the message when trying to use my account, so I went and did “download profile” putting in the same login information for the rejected account and it gave me access. I’m currently on OG MW3 now with my modded vault intact.

You will notice that clearing the cache might not work. There is a problem with backward compatibility login between xbox 360 password only and non password only authentication. For example MFA, app authenticator etc. To solve the issue, you will need go generate an app password in your microsoft account. To navigate there, open the microsoft authenticator app, then « update how you sign in and verify », and go a bit below on the page until you see « app password ». You should be able to navigate there using a different mean - note. Generate a new one and use that password to login in your 360 game. You will probably need to enter the password each time as storing it locally is also buggy.

Try going into settings»system»storage devices From there, go to “clear local xbox 360 storage”. Select yes. Your xbox may restart for a moment, then you should be able to play your games just fine :) This worked for me! Good luck

As a fix for me, I logged into my home internet and add port forwarding for Xbox 360 and boom. Worked fast. My ATT router had a 360 profile so I don’t know the numbers but it worked like a charm.

I just spoke with Microsoft customer service about that exact issue. Apparently it's a technical glitch that has to do with Game Pass subscriptions. Since the old consoles utilized the online service under a different name, "Xbox Live Gold", the new subscription service name just confuses things.

Go into your network settings and make sure that it says "OPEN", otherwise it will not connect to Xbox Live at all. If your current internet connection doesn't work, try using a mobile hotspot if possible.

That's exactly right TJ. Seems Microsoft has no support for this matter. I accidentally deleted my internal 360 data thinking I was clearing Gama data to free up space. I'm used to Playstation, that's easy on thier system, since I removed the 360 data, I cannot seen to relogin to the 360 servers. Everyone I've spoke to mentioned changing your Internet settings and retry. Will update later today and see if that fixes it.

Okay I figured it out 1. Clear 360 local storage 2. Load up the game a connect to a hotspot or alternate internet connection 3. Download your 360 account on the game 4. Switch back to your main internet connection while on the game.

If you have a problem this problem on xbox one's here is the fix: First delete the game, it will not work by downloading it only , then make a network reset , that deleted the curroption on your system , dont worry wont delete the games on your xbox.
