Thanks for ur support. I had a Chinese version and it was working in middle east. When I moved recently to Canada it didn't work. Then I followed ur steps and flashed the international version which in English, it helped in setting up. Every step is going well except for the last step when retrieving the camera status fails. Yes, tested. Need to flash the firmware 2x i.e. to 1.8.5.1B first, then redo to flash the firmware to 1.8.5.1K. And it is working now as long as we DO NOT upgrade to the latest firmware. Thanks.

Hi Momo, thank you for the great help. I managed to flash it to 1.8.5.1K, followed by 1.8.6.1B then it connected to my hp app via my house wifi. But once I disconnect house wifi and use data to view the Live, it wont connect and stated "Camera connect failed, please retry (-3003)". What shld I do? T____T

It straight away turn orange, then speak Chinese then flash orange. Hi sir, i have tried to flash the xiao yi camera several times following your instructions but the problem still persist. I think the problem is the flashing process. As you mentioned in your video after putting in the SD card with the home file then power on it should takes few minutes for the flashing process and the light would blink. However mine only takes few seconds and it will prompt its ready. After the prompt msg i proceed with the linking up and all but in the end it still won't work repeating "this camera may not be used within China. Anything i did wrong here?? i formatted the sd card to FAT32 and copy the file downloaded form your link. Can you help me with this?? Thanks alot

The region in the mi home app must be in Chinese mainland? Can we use different country? My yi camera can use but I have 2 version of region which I need to always sign out and sign in again to view different region. How can I change this Xiao Yi to Malaysia region?

this is no longer required, I installed the latest Mi Home and it worked but you need to say you live in Mainland China, the date and time is also correct! crazy looks like they listened.

Are you sure? Did you upgrade camera firmware to last version or you are using old firmware?

Hi I was able to connect camera to WiFi (solid blue and see the camera in dhcp client list on the router) but pairing continues fail. I cannot reset from the back either not sure if the reset button is broken

the Chinese version. They are quite particular about this, the CN version of the camera can only work on the CN version of the app and the international version of the camera can only work on the international version of the app. The Chinese version of the app uses part English and part Chinese though.

I tried to flash the 1.8.5.1B, but it doesnt help. The amber light blink for a mere 1 second (at step 4) and it stopped. Understand that i might be flashing the firmware wrongly. How else should I flash it then?

What happens is when I reset the camera and turn it back on, the yellow Amber light flashes rapidly, it picks up the wifi password through the app, it scans the WR code, the camera light then goes into flashing blue, then solid blue, and about 35-45 percent through the install it gives the prompt. Which files should be on the card? The zip file or just extract home file and copy that only on the sd card? Thanks

+marujo173, I just reset the camera then copied B to the sd card and switched on the camera with the sd. later reset it again and removed the sd. finally deleted the B and copied L to the sd card. reboot cam with sd which includes only L. Boom, its working. However app wants me to update it when ever I logged in. But I never going to eat the bait. :-)

Hi Momo. I've been at it following your video for the last 3 hours and couldn't get it work. Tried flashing it in the order you recommended as B and later on to L but it says it couldn't be paired. Using the Chinese version of the App by the way. Then i proceeded to use the Firmware version K and it said successful but now when i try to connect to the camera, it reads Camera is offline with error code -3006. Any thoughts on where i messed up? I have a 64GB uSD card and it may be the reason. will give it a try again when I get an uSD card which is from 8-32GB as I recall the requirements are. just wanted to clarify your steps - downgrade from the current one then upgrade to rev L? Did you put place the QR code on your mobile phone app in front of the camera? Try moving it in and out until it connects. If you have a very long WIFI password, the QR pattern might not be readable.

Anything from below it just brick and doesnt even start. 1.8.6.1B_201603181307 this one on the other hand connected but of coz the famous "can only work in China" The taiwan forum firmware 1861B.02 in here can connect but i cannot view on my application. i flash it to the 1.8.5.1B then when it's all done, i try to format the sd again and try to flash to the 2nd firmware which is the 1.8.5.1L but for the 2nd one it won't flash into it
