Downloaded your instructions and parts list tonight. Thanks for doing this! I disassembled my UCS Slave I several weeks ago, and plan to build the internals with color corrected parts. I’ll be using all or most of your ideas and creating a video on my channel sometime in January - you’ll be mentioned 😊. Also plan on following through on these ideas with an additional Jango version, too. Happy Holidays, Simon.

That sounds like a worthy project, I think you will be happy with the changes Joel! + it's good to hear you are re-building your model making colour corrections to get rid of off coloured parts, I did that with my build too and it makes a significant difference, especially to the underside of the model. All the best and Happy Holidays to you too! 😀

Good sir, quite excellent mods once again. Looks much more accurate and yes, replacing with dark tan pieces are a much better match. My main hang up was the dark red slopes towards the back. It just didn't "staircase" very well and looks chunky. That will be my mods in addition to yours.

@@CraftedBricks I just realized that you used a dish piece on the back of the ship on top of the large blueish gray dish. What piece is that?
@CraftedBricks
@CraftedBricks 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Aaron, good spot! I actually made quite a few changes to the underside of my model, to swap out all of the black and light tan and other weird colours for predominantly dark stone grey to give it a consistent look. I didn't mention this in the video as it's almost impossible to do those changes retrospectively unless you fully disassemble the model. To answer your question: for the sensor dish center I used: 4032 (2x2 round plate) + 6942 (5x5 dish) + 2654 (2x2 boat stud). With this config the model won't sit flush if displayed sitting flat - so I did some further mods to seat the large dish further up into the model. If you are displaying the model on it's stand you many not need to do that.
@Snoglobe7
@Snoglobe7 2 жыл бұрын

Hi Greg, I included the Studio.io file for my cockpit mods (and a separate file for the parts list) in the files you can download from Rebrickable for this MOC/mod. You can view the file by just installing Studio. The changes are grouped into steps and components and with a little patience are simple to figure out. Use the 'mask' icon in Studio to see the changes step-by-step. I'm sure you'll enjoy upgrading your Slave 1!

Haha, love it! Yes those UCS Slave-1 mods are a superb upgrade and certainly 'visually complete' that model. If you have the UCS A-wing, on my Rebrickable page, checkout the upgrades I designed for that model. Very much worth it and vastly improves (and fixes) that model. Even though I designed those mods a while back, looking at my modified A-wing still puts a smile on my face!

The list of required bricks is quite inaccurate; in the end 35 (including the two 1×4 plates removed from the back) of them were unused and there were already spares of several of them from the dismantling of the official design. Still, thank you so much for providing the guidance to this modification.
@CraftedBricks
@CraftedBricks 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Isak, I'd like to correct this. What specific parts are duplicated / or that you had left over? Two 1x4 plates only or others? Can you please let me know. As you can I'm sure appreciate when modelling up mods to an existing set in Studio I always make sure that the required parts inventory I publish includes ALL of the parts needed to do the mods. But it can sometimes be difficult to figure out the delta of new parts needed versus what you are removing from the standard model to tune the require parts down to a bare minimum. You will have parts left over after this mod - that is expected, and it's good to have extra parts for your next build!
@O1sson
@O1sson 2 жыл бұрын
@@CraftedBricks The following are parts that were ordered. All 1x1x1 modified brick with stud on one side All 1x4x1 modified brick with studs on one side 2 1x2 lbg grilles 2 1x2 lbg plates 2 1x2 lbg curved slopes 8 dbg studs 1 1x1 lbg round tile The following are excess parts from the official build which in addition to the list above could've been deducted from the Rebrickable parts list. 2 1x2 lbg curved slopes 1 1x2 lbg grille 2 1x4 dbg plates (if these were removed in an earlier step than 94 they could be used in the mods) 2 2x2 dbg plates [8 1x2 dark tan plates to replace some internal dark green ones] There is also a mistake in the instructions where the lbg 1x4 plates underneath the top edge of the the back wall of the cockpit aren't in place when installing it back. Plus I think you could mention that it doesn't need disassembly just like the captain's chair. Also one 1x1 round tile beside the right weapons hatch is the wrong colour in the instructions. I was also able to move the 2 top 1x2 technic bricks toward the end with cannons by one stud and make a minor modification to the inner part of the cowling, in order to allow the 1x2x1 modified bricks with clip on one side to fit back into their original position to hold Boba's weapon, which in turn leaves the 1x1x1 lbg bricks unused.
@CraftedBricks
@CraftedBricks 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Isak - thank you for your detailed reply. You spotting the 1x4 LBG plates behind the standard cockpit rear wall/floor and colour change for the 1x1 round tile were helpful. And I've made some minor adjustments to reduce some parts from the mod inventory. I've not covered your full list as many of the choices I have made for the extra parts are deliberate - for colour consistency or would be difficult to specify/omit given the building step order. The great thing is at no point will anyone doing this mod be 'short' on parts - and they can complete the mods successfully, be happy with their improved model and have left over parts as spares for other projects. Your feedback has been helpful and I've published version 1.1 of the instructions up on Rebrickable now. All the best to you, Simon

Thank you Tropper Brick! Yes the stabiliser fins will rotate on their own if you change the angle of the model. With my updates the fins are little heavier, so the rotation may be a little slower or get stuck at times - but shouldn't be a problem as predominantly the model will be on display in a static position.

Hi Colin, thank you. And to answer your question, unfortunately no I'm not aware of any mod examples to include the fold-out missile launchers under the main blasters. Hi again Robert - the 2 DBG 1x3 plates are used on the inner faces of the two side-wall panels of the body, right at the top and at the back near where the windshield slots in. They replace the 1x4 plates in the same colour - as there needs to be 1 stud clear for the new rear wall with with the 4L bars to seat flush against the technic frame. Let me know if this makes sense.
