How To Fix Zero-Tick Farms (Kelp, XP, Bonemeal) Minecraft Bedrock 1.21

Another fix I would add (at least to the single farm) is that when the kelp starts building up and not going into the hoppers you need to replace all the water. Somehow the farm occasionally turns non source water blocks into source water blocks but its rare and when it happens (at least to me) it basically does all of them at once.

The sand falling and breaking is always what breaks the zero tick farms. Everyone always thinks that something is wrong with their redstone and they never check their sand.

@@jameshenryevans4076 is there sand below your pistons that shouldn’t be there? Sometimes it falls through the pistons. There may also be some funny business with the chunk borders, those can be troublesome

I’m struggling. I’ve got the area under the sand hollowed out, ensured there’s no sand. The redstone is fine as both sets of pistons function. Top layer of sand from below doesn’t appear to move, and the kelp doesn’t grow. I’ve broken the kelp and sand, flicked lever a ton, exited the world and the chunk, nothing. I’m at a loss. This farmer worked for a while filled a couple double chests and randomly stopped working while afking.

It was patched on Minecraft Bedrock Preview v1.21.30.22. So it looks like is going to be patch pretty soon on Bedrock...

Just tested on 1.21.3 and it's working. Where is your source for the patch? I just checked the BETA release and there are no changelogs addressing "Zero-Tick", and there was no modifications made since 1.21.2 to 1.21.3 that changes anything about binary or redstone mechanics.

@@MinerMends I have a Hardcore World in Minecraft Preview for PS5 and since last update (1.21.30.22) my zero tick kelp farm is not working anymore. Sand blocks keeps getting destroyed by pistons. And yes, the farm is in the same chunk. It was working right before the last update. Placing blocks under the sand prevents the sand blocks to being destroyed by pistons but the farm is not duplicating the kelp.

Just tested on 1.21.30.22 (Preview), works perfectly fine. Reviewed the change logs, nothing has changed. Reviewed the game riles and sources, they didn’t change anything. Weird.

Sounds like you aren’t in the middle of the Chunk and are sharing it on a border. Double check your chunk. Could also be redstone.

Yes and no matter what I do it doesn't allow it to grow I've tried several times I'ma watch again in case I missed something Watched again my particular problem is not addressed I have been building 0 tick kelp farms since bedrock got cross play in every world even had some of my own custom designs but since the last update no matter what I do it doesn't produce anything the kelp is not getting stuck and the redstone is exact and properly inside of a chunk

my kelp is just generally not growing at all from the looks of it the piston is breaking the water source block preventing the kelp to grow, could this be a chunk issue or is this a new one.

i fixed the chunk issue and now in the 1.21.30 update my sand is constantly falling through the piston or breaking i’ve replaced the sand multiple times and double checked my redstone ticks, and the sand is breaking, idk if this is the “arts and crafts” you were talking about but idk what’s going on.

They did not patch it I don't understand why everybody keeps saying this. "Its patched", people been saying this since 1.17, they're not patched, so saying that its incorrect. Look at the code changes, there are zero patches towards Zero-Tick ticking, nothing has changed between 1.16-1.21 for this farm. The farm works, only reason you're having issues is because you are doing something wrong. Which is surprising to me given the fact I've provided everything for you guys.

Yes, but this is a kelp farm that has been working for months, and now I just won't. Edit: I just did some trouble shooting and now it's working again I have 0 idea what was wrong with it?

Glad you fixed it! Like I said in the video. Kelp farms are finicky. 90% of the issues are related to ones own mistake. But sometimes you can get extremely unlucky and still randomly have problems; even if you did everything correctly. There is also some sort of Chunk algorithm, where sometimes farms work in some chunks, and not others. I found this to be incredibly rare, and less than a 1 in 100 chance (I tried it 100 times with 100% success rate), so I'm not sure really where that issue ties to. To add to that (just for fun). We were able to get a 50 wide Kelp Farm, and it worked. But it was only in a set of specific Chunks, following a specific order, for a specific seed. It makes no sense, and we haven't cracked that theory just yet. But if we do, rest assured, you know ChunkBot will get a command that adds this if we do haha.

Playing technical worlds for more than 5 years and suddenly the farm doesn't work anymore on Preview for PS5... Move the farm to another place, even used Chunk base for chunks, and nothing seems to work with zero-tick kelp farm... It's just stopped working

Yeah you definitely built it wrong then haha. Follow my ytutorial and watch more carefully. I've built these farms hundreds of times, if not more, and they always work when I do it the way I do in my tutorials. I'm not sure if you watched my tutorial or someone elses, but it works 100% of the time for me. Watch it again more carefully (my tutorial).
