Thanks .It works like a charm when i downgrade BIOS version,no more automatically shut down. In UEFI boot mode,you need to turn off secure boot,it will let you load legacy ROM,that mean you can boot into USB as Legacy boot mode.

If you have problems with DOS just don't use DOS simply put the bios update file into the usb and restart. Then select bios flash update and select in (...) the update file and in option type /forceit

I have a problem: when i try to copy the BIOS file to the USB drive, I get a message saying that I can't copy the whole file because the USB drive doens't support that kind of file (probably metadata or something). But if I copy anyway then I execute it using the /forceit in the MS-DOS, all I get is a message saying "test" which i'm guessing is due to the problem above, the exe is probably corrupted. I spent a lot of time trying to copy the damn exe to the flash drive but I couldn't do it. I really need to update my BIOS, but i've tried everything and nothing works. Do you know if there's another way to copy the BIOS file to the flash drive or if i'm just doing something wrong? I'd really appreciate any help!

you need to replace either keyboard and adaptor. Keyboard has a stucking key and ac adapter ran into problem so that Insufficient power supply to the computer

It's doable but risky and may run into trouble with existing settings saved that are incompatinle with new firmware. My advice... read the update notes from the manufacture on their website prior to updating as this will be a good indication of whether your saved bios settings are compatible with newer bios updates. I have run into problems with Intel's embedded Management Engine and it made my machine behave unexpectedly. Lameman people should always consider consulting a tech specialist for bios upgrades because we know what to do when things go wrong. If youre still keen to experiment, do it on a mainboard you dont mind bricking.

I have a Dell Vostro 2521 in my possession and this solution didnt work for me because the executable refused to run in dos mode. The only output I am getting is "Test." My desire to rub the BIOS update led me here since there is no battery present and the update wont run in Windows without a battery presence. Oh well.
