Personally I use proton mail. You can also download gmail in this rom. If you don't want gmail, here is a build in mail app, you maybe login with gmail account there, try this with your own research. Or can use proton mail as me.

Apart from the suggestions given by another user, you can install the e/OS mail application from App Lounge , or even the K9 mail. You can then connect to your Gmail account via IMAP. Though Google will still have access to all your mails, and will know what IP address is being used to check your mail, but let's keep that discussion for some other day.
