How To: Flower Pounding natural dyes on fabric

What you'll need for this How To:
freshly picked flowers
hammer/mallet
(a heavy object like a bottle would work if you don't have these)
fabric or paper, watercolour paper works really well for this
kitchen roll

What kind of paper are you placing on top before pounding? I am wondering if parchment paper will do, or simply any paper

@maryannesenko417 it was kitchen roll on top, to absorb any excess moisture. But you can use anything really.

Hi there, you will get great results with cotton, silk, and linen. Cartridge paper is also really lovely to use too

@josephinelicci6930 you'd have to set the fabric first, you could buy a cold water fix solution, Dylon and other brands sell them

You could use Dylon cold fix, comes in a sachet of powder form solution 😁
