Nice work, that will clean up the looks no end. Its all the subtle touches that don't immediately jump out at you that are my favourite bit of your builds. Can't wait to see what other neat touches you come up with. That's one cool looking non standard sled. I bought a 1956 Austin A40 Cambridge dropped chopped and two doored leadsled off some guy on the Narborough road, Leicester in 1993 ish. Don't know if you maybe remember it? Black over maroon with buick wire basket wheel trims wood screwed to the the original 15" front wheels, Geared horribly with 13" datsun rims on the back completely hidden behind fender skirts, lowering blocks stacked up like lego and a 1.8 marina B series that chucked a rod out on the journey home from buying it. I put another B series in and hated it. Then put in a hotted up 1600 ford crossflow and an escort axle. Suddenly it went from a 50mph car to a 100mph car. That was when I found out the windscreen wasn't tight enough in the wobbly rubber and it blew in on me and my mate at maximum velocity. Luckily Mad Andy was quick on the draw and caught the front screen just as the rear screen exited the car and obliterated itself all over the dual carriageway. My fix was the same wobbly rubber, an mgb roadster interior mirror and vertical bike spoke thing to support the centre and a tab on each of the A posts from inside. And a perspex rear screen. Aaah, the bodgetastic exuberance of yoof.

Wow, what a story. I don't remember the car but at that time I would have lost my mind if I had of seen it driving down the road. Wonder where it is now? And you're right, loads of little touches all come together for a massive impact.

@@bacop001 haven't got any vids of the sled from back in the day just some old photos somewhere. Check out "zodiac mk2 SBF 347 Zombiac" on KZbin for my latest rebuild of a car built years ago. That nearly got a pinto in it when I first bought it. With a heat siezed been on fire ruined small block in it. Luckily my wife talked me into it needing to sound like a mad max car. Great for local journeys but I wouldn't do le mans in it without being deafened.
