Also for any newbies it might be wiser to drain the fluid by unclamping and releasing the lower radiator hose. Sometimes when you remove the petcock it wont reseal properly and you might have drips or leaks from it and find yourself flushing it all over again after buying a new petcock or in my experience a whole new radiator. Learned my lesson the hard way..

This was about as perfect as it gets for a tutorial. Thanks, i have a 2012 and it looks the same. was trying to find if the accents had any trouble spots like my toehr cars that have little humps that can trap air. good stuff

Your welcome Glad it helped! As long as you thermostat is fully opened and the heater is "ON" the coolant will flow all around and flush out any air bubbles. But your not wrong. Some vehicles have breather valves you have to open because there are air pocket spots in the system.

not sure what the exact numbers and thread patterns those screws are.. but if you need more I've seen many Accents in junk yards I normally go get parts and bolts from there

Very instructive thanks How time you wait to cool down engine? How do you drain the expansion tank it's non removable?

I used a little hand siphon pump to get the fluid out the overflow tank... and I gave it about 10-15 mins with the fan blowing over the engine between cooldown/flush cycles

Great video. Just one question...when you're doing the final fill, do you leave the heater on? I'm about to do this on my 2013 Accent.
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 2 жыл бұрын
Yes on all my flush intervals , I did have the heater on so it could push the fluid through the heater core too

Great video! What kind of coolant did you use? Everyone's telling me to totally flush out my coolant (it's about time to change it anyway) use some kind of HOAT coolant.

I literally went to Autozone and just used some Prestone concentrate the yellow stuff. Its an ethylene glycol based which is good for aluminum radiators and blocks. Im sure there's specialty ones Hyundai offers but I just went the universal route. and never have had a problem

Hey, I do have the same model but what if the Service Centre guy did not burp the system, I am hearing Sloshing sound when accelerating the car, will it cause any serious damage, if YES Can you enumerate the steps to burp without opening any part ? #Hyundai

Hi mate. If you replace the water pump, what's the procedure to bleed the coolant? I say that because when you replace the water pump, inside engine block there are no coolant. To bleed the engine block is the same like your video? Thank you!
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 3 жыл бұрын
The way these Accents are built. you don't have to worry about special bleeding when you replace your water pump.. Just fill up the Radiator as normal, this is the highest point in the system, which all the air will flow up and out of the top. But squeezing the upper and lower radiator hoses help push some of the air around and out.

If you jack the vehicle up, do you need to remove the air intake? It appears if the under covers are removed the AC petcock/drain plug can be reached from the underside?
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 2 жыл бұрын
you can reach from the underside for sure... id just recommend removing some of the clips on the center splash guards so you can pus it out the way a bit so the coolant does it hit it as it sprays out

how about the heat core for the heater? How did you flush it
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 2 жыл бұрын
only thing you can do is turn on the heater when your running the distilled water through the system. and it will also flow through the heater core. In theory, when you drain the fluid the radiator core is supposed to be uphill so that the fluid mostly flows out of there too.

Isn’t there some distilled water left in the block before the final fill?
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 2 жыл бұрын
there's probably a very small amount... But with every fill.. I measure how much I put in and how much drains out, that way I know if I need to compensate with coolant or not. but its fairly easy to get most of the fluid out on these cars.

Is it normal that the distilled water is coming out to the tiny hole beside the reservoir tank when the car hits its high temperature? Tya
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 3 жыл бұрын
No your reservoir tank should not be leaking at any temperature... try and check close and see if there's a crack or a hole that leaks when pressure builds up at operating temp. If there is a leak, depending upon how bad it is, you may want to replace it.

Doesn't some water still remain in the engine block?? Is there a drain plug on the engine to flush the coolant there
@EverythingAvron
@EverythingAvron 3 жыл бұрын
Yes some water does remain in the engine block when trying to flush it. I don’t believe there is an engine block drain unfortunately (I could be wrong) but I remedy that situation by draining then refilling over and over until I can guarantee over 90% is flushed out👌
@6atlantis
@6atlantis 2 жыл бұрын
This is exactly what I was wondering before I do my Sonata, I mean everything is so simple but some cars have drains for the block. So if you only left around 10% of distilled water in there aren’t you still gonna have to account for that in your final mix? Can I start the car one last time after all the flushes with the radiator petcock off to try to bleed 100% of the liquid in the cooling system , I’d cut the engine off before it overheats?
