The motivational speech in the middle felt a little weird, but the entire rest of the video was good, thank you for sharing.

Something about the voice over at 5:00 made me think it wasn't serious. I don't know if it was the tone or the timing or what, but after every phrase I kept expecting a punchline or some snarky comment about the crotch-cam hahaha. But nope, it was all a serious message. Very strange.

I wonder if he knows how good he really is? I don’t know. I don’t even know if he actually realizes how good he is. It’s puzzling.

@@KyleRoyerKnives well my first question would be what kind of files do you use or recommend? I've made a few knives but nothing as intricate as the type of handle you're making in the video, I'd love to give it a try

Hello, thanks for the video. When you are carving the initial grooves in the handle you seem to be putting a wire in in between of filing them, is that to check depth/width or is that some flexible filing/ sanding tool to actually round the grooves?
@KyleRoyerKnives4 жыл бұрын
Hey Joris You’re right it’s to check the depth Be safe and be careful Team Royer

Hey Kyle, was wondering what tool you used for marking the grid vertically. Thanks.

Hey Shane I think you’re referring to a wheel I made with degree marks on it. I use it for line layout I hope this helps Happy new year Kyle

So thaaat's how it's done lol. I've honestly never taken the time to look into how to flute a handle, very cool though and beautifully executed. Is this a new project or is it footage from the previous dagger you recently finished? I can't quite remember what the last one looked like or if it had a clamshell guard. I have a question about bedding the handle if you don't mind. I've always seen people use and suggest using Vaseline, as you did to, to keep it from adhering to the tang. I've personally been using a thick layer of paste wax, because I've always worried about there being leftover Vaseline on top of the epoxy inside the handle due to it rubbing off of the tang when first removing it, and thus not being able to properly and permanently use epoxy to adhere the handle (once it's finished being shaped etc.) to the tang due to there possibly being a thin layer of epoxy in between the dried, bedded epoxy and the fresh epoxy used to fix it to the tang. Have you every experience any problems with this? I know I probably wouldn't matter that much on a take-down anyway since it's being held on with a bolt, but I like to bed my hidden tang handles which are permanently epoxied in place regardless, as it sure makes shaping things a lot nicer. Thanks again for sharing! Take care :)
