I'm really gonna need to practice. When I played battlefield, my favorite thing to do was pilot the attack helicopter if I was playing solo, or run a transport helicopter as a gunship if I was playing with a couple friends. The thing is, I ALWAYS used an XBOX controller to pilot the helicopter, as I found it was the most intuitive control method. Even on PC, I would have my controller sitting next to me ready to go, and grabbed it whenever I hopped in a vehicle. Piloting with mouse and keyboard is gonna take some getting used to!

This took me some time to figure out too. The yaw setting registers mouse movement into the keybind slot only if you make really fast/sudden movement with the mouse. If you are moving mouse slowly it does not register it.

at 3:20 how did you change 'helicopter yaw right' and 'helicopter yaw left' to MouseX(positive) and MouseX(negative) respectively? I cant find out how to change they keybind to a mouse movment, the same way you would with a key on the keyboard. I cant do 'MouseX(positive)' as a custom keybind because the settings wont let me do that, so how did you do that? I can change the roll settings to D and A because thats just a button press, but how for mouse movements? Thanks.

My first and one only time I fly a heli experience: It quite nice, I knew how to handle the heli (thx to PTSD experience from Rising Storm 2: Vietnam) but only me and other rando were in the heli. I even got into my first heli fight. But I got shot down after the enemy heli go down. Overall, It's good if you have passenger to drop off at Capture zone.

Prety funny, it is the exact same control as Hurtworld copter, a hardcore survival game, the copter were quite hard to use, but i was able to master them quite well, droping squad on top of bases, capturing events while on my copter, ect. It was basicaly the supreme vehicle when in good hands, hope batlebit will give me same vibes 😅😅

I'm a pretty good pilot with the Blackhawk but struggle aiming with the little bird using the keyboard for yaw, when I swap roll to my keyboard though I feel like a baby calf learning to walk and am all over the place. You still giving it a go? Does it feel natural eventually. I feel like my mouse corrects my helipcopter's tilt much more responsive than my keys

@@BIGBodsta I wish I had some disposable income so I could get a good joystick and some foot rudder pedals. The default just feels so natural to me because that's how I've always played. I really wish you could find it so like if you held the ALT key it would I'll let you steer your helicopter exactly this way where your mouse controls your yaw and up and down pitch. I think the little bird could really be improved

@@Eatlead727 you can actually make it work with the game but believe me, buying a nice setup for Battlebit is _not worth it_ - if you'd fly helis in DCS, sure. But Battlebit? Nah. It's arcade through and through. Even though you can assign analog axes to the collective - it still acts the same as if you held W or S, so having collective low on the ground makes the heli push you down into the ground. (That's not a thing in reality).

When binding your mouse, you have to drag it in the direction you want until it registers the input 😄 it took me a while to figure out but you should be able to unbind the roll and change it to a and d

Transport helicopter doesn’t have a gun for the pilot, little bird does but also has ammo, so you may have run out and you can refill in base 😁

Arma is still pretty bad when it comes to the flight model, but at least it somewhat has some kind of flight model, while BattleBit doesn't really have any. ;) But it's ok, it's not a sim (neither is Arma).

I tried switching controls. It seems like either way part of your aiming is keyboard and the other part is mouse. Kind of annoying i think battlefield flight controls was slightly better and much easier to aim with mouse only while u use keys to fly
