Worked on the damn beast for 4 years in the Army, some which were flown in Vietnam. Thier was a rumor that said the person who designed it, ended up in an insane asylum. My least favorite memory was installing the Jesus nut on the mast, 700-800 foot pounds torque, took at least 2-3 people to do it.

HEY Is there a formal HUEY flying course in the US? Is it legal to buy a HUEY from USAF?

I've no idea. I'm a Brit messing around in a museum in Malta and I've never seen a Huey outside of a film. I'd suggest you try Google or a USAF recruiting centre 😁

It’s legal, it’s just very expensive to buy. And odds are it’ll be missing some stuff, which adds to the cost to get it flight worthy
