Great video. I really enjoyed it. I do a lot of striper fishing here in CT, but when the 'Hickories' are around love to get them on lighter gear. Love catching the 'poor man's' little tarpon here in CT. A great fishery!

biggest difference IMO and one you don't hear much, is the Americans tend to be purple-y-silver, but more noticeably slimier, and more football shaped. Lips are obvious too, especially if the Americans are small! Nice video man!

Thanks Gregg! All solid points. And neither of us mentioned how the Americans on average are a bigger class fish!

Great video! Are you able to wade for them around the RVA area?

Im local too. I fished annacrows landing and a couple other spots up there. No luck but I know they were in there, just wasn’t packed in. I literally just started my channel and I’m hoping to get bigger and bigger. Tips on how you got your views and subscribers up will help. #FishOn

Do you think I would be fine with a 4WT or 5WT rod for shad? I have a sinking leader, just wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks for posting such a great video!
@GeekOnTheWater5 жыл бұрын
Nav thanks for the kind feedback. As far as fighting them goes you would have a blast on a 4 or 5 wt... just keep depending on your water you may need that sinking leader to get down as deep as 8-10 ft at a comfortable pace. If you think your leader can get that deep and you can cast it well on the lighter rod you should be able to make it work for you....
