Would you buy clearly extended names? On Marketsmith the breakouts being heavily rewarded right now are extremely extended and frequently up 10% over O'Neil's 20% profit-taking line. Winners are rocketing past sell points without bothering to find bases. Almost without fail the classic VCP pivots are getting trashed immediately as if some entities are making a tasty meal out of traditional breakouts. As Mark says, if you can see it so can everyone else.

this is why I like to track all VCP/IBD style breakouts and see how they behave. Then when they seem to start picking up steam and following through, I'll buy the best ones the come to me first that have very good to excellent tech/fund characteristics. Couldn't have been able to track this properly without Amibroker and Norgate and some elbow grease to script it all :D

Mark Ritche is correct 40% of the time Look for Stock Action compared to Index Action as the are many times index goes no where but stock goes up Every crash starts with 4 to 5% correction Your best loss is first loss Many times Mark has sold lows in Stop loss, you have to be best risk manager Follow the Rules What happens in a losing period is confidence is list
