HOW TO: Ford Escape / Mercury Mariner / Mazda Tribute V6 Engine Air Filter Replacement (2009-2012)

In this video I show you how to easily replace your Ford Escape / Mercury Mariner / Mazda Tribute V6 Engine Air Filter. Don't pay $150 at the Dealer. Watch this video and save some dough.
As shown on a 2009 Mercury Mariner V6.
Tool needed: None, but grab some cleaner and a couple paper towels or clean rag.

Can someone please help me with a question? I have a 2009 Ford Escape 3.0 V6, engine looks identical to this one. I need help identifying a part. If you pause the video at 0:59 its the part to the left of his finger. It's a piece of plastic with an oval shaped rubber tube that brings air into the box where the air filter is. The reason I'm asking is that mine is not properly attached and I can't get it to stay in place. Can driving with this not fully connected cause damage to my vehicle? Thanks for the help!

handicapitation its simply just an air inlet to the airbox, if its not fully secured its not a huge worry pal! ur pins might have come undone thats all, just zip tie it down in the worst case scenario

handicapitation I had this trouble with my 2011, just clean the oval lip on the filter box and the part of the rubber tube that sits on the oval with a degreaser, I used brake/carb cleaner or alcohol, reattach and tighten the clip, it should stay on, mine has.
