Very crafty . I welded for 5 years so I can appreciate what you do and I enjoy it . I swung a short 8 pound sledge many many many times those 5 years pounding beams and plate steel into place closing gaps . I bet your forearms and grip strength is robotic 💪 like mine lol Keep up the good work 👍

I'll probably never swing an 8 pound sledge, haha. But, it keeps my grip strong, that's for sure.

I'm not a blacksmith or a machinist of any kind, I watch this content precisely because it has exactly nothing to do with what I do normally, like a mental vacation. Out of all the smithing channels I've watched yours is by far the least aggravating with constant musical cutaways and irrelevant garbage I specifically installed an addon to remove (its called 'sponsorblock for youtube' if you're curious). You have zero irrelevant garbage, in fact. Even the algorithm-enforced engagement begging at the end was tasteful. On top of all that, it wasn't some trashy anime Kunai made out of polished brass, but a useful tool. Pretty good stuff. Personally I'd like to see some content on the measurement tooling and generic work process you have, that hooked ruler looked pretty interesting. General shop-stuff like your grinder or furnace or anything else in mundane use would be great too.

Thank you so much for such a detailed and thoughtful comment! This is why I started my channel. I'll say, I am modeling it as a hybrid of the artistic projects with music and fluff as well as more how-tos/ breakdowns without the music and with more detail. So, don't be surprised if you see the other style from me too. Haha. This kind of comment helps me figure out what people like to see, though, so I really appreciate it!

The owner of the shop space I'm using built it. I'm not sure if it was a kit or completely from scratch, but he lets me use it. Haha

@@rockingeforge I wish I could find a shop space to work out of.. if I had a bunch of money to buy some land I'd put power on it and the a big pole barn or steel building and rent the spaces out on a monthly basis or yearly or whatever.. I think it would do really good.. thoughts?

@@jonballard4453 it's my biggest struggle. I move frequently for work, and finding a new place to smith is such a pain sometimes.

@@jonballard4453 for what it's worth, I've considered making a communal shop space and while I think in the long run it would be awesome (as long as you make people sign contracts to not abuse the space), I think fronting the cost just to find out if there are enough people in my area who want to rent the space is very daunting. If you got a few people together to start the venture, I'd say it might be doable, though!
