It’s tough when the one who hurt you thinks they did nothing and they invalidate you while continuing to think they are perfect and may treat you however they want.🥺

I am currently going through the same thing. What is helping me (not totally there because it's a process) is meditating on GOD'S w WORD regarding peace. I truly believe if we do not have GOD'S peace (contentment, composure, rest, calm, quiet, comfort, etc.), we cannot grow in faith, love, patience, endurance, etc. Not having peace means we're focused on worldly things. Remember the parable of the sower and the seed? The cares if this world can choke one up if not at spiritual peace. If interested, here are a few of the peace scriptures I am meditating on. If there is anything to keep in mind is that Jesus left us with a precious gift -peace of mind and heart, therefore do not be TROUBLED or AFRAID (John 14:27) : John 14:27 John 16:33 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Isaiah 26:3 Matthew 5:9 Proverbs 3:24 1 Timothy 2:1-2 Galatians 5:22-23 Psalm 119:165 Job 22:21 Romans 8:6 James 3:17-18 Matthew 11:28-30 Romans 16:20 Romans 12:19-21 1 Peter 3:10 Proverbs 20:3 Hebrews 12:11

I want to clarify that when I said I'm not totally there yet: I have my moments where I replay what was done to me, but once I meditate on the scriptures and talk to/listen to GOD I feel so much better. I'm just hoping to get to the point where I do not allow such thoughts to fester in my head; and, as a result I get angry. Once a negative thought enters my mind I want to be so sensitive to the HOLY SPIRIT that I can quickly repel such thoughts. We will always have negative thoughts enter our heads due to the list of the flesh and the tactics of the enemy. It is what we do with it that matters to the HOLY FATHER. Do we fight it off, or do we entertain it!

I was afraid to have fun without them, afraid that they would find ANYTHING to be upset about…and low and behold…. Again, I went with a pure heart and intentions and STILL ended up apologizing AGAIN! I am tired of this. I wish God would open this persons heart, make them face themselves and stop treating me like this, practically just having me apologize for just being alive at this point

I am going thru the same thing. I am 60 but I just cant forgive my father. People dont realize what pain it causes to be harmed by the one that is supposed to protect. I couldn't tell anyone because I didn't want to hurt my family or my grandmother. I ran away at 13 but people thought I was a spoiled troubled child and still do. I want to speak up but what good would it do? He has been dead 18 years but my pain lives on. I want to know how to actively forgive. I do not trust people because of my father's pervertions.

@@SheResellsSeashells😢 💔 keep asking Jesus for help and seeking His counsel is all I can say. I am struggling to forgive my mum ATM. She wounded me deeply last night by telling me I can't move back in with her when if I needed to even if I can't get a place to rent which here in Australia are insanely expensive for a an absolute dump and that's IF I would even be able to land a place with my job being casual. The amount of stress I was already under to have her not care broke my heart and has made me sooo extremely wounded and angry I'm finding it so hard to let go of it. And I don't want to say sorry for my angry reaction as though I'm always the one apologising for an emotional outburst because of ill treatment without their acknowledgement of mistreating me. I'm rambling but hoping this might help get things off my chest so I can get some clarity.

Guys tell me it's not crazy that the Lord's Prayer has changed in your Bibles! Literally pick your Bible up and read this verse after I tell you... I think it's Mark 6: 9 - 13... The part where it says "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us". *IT'S NO LONGER TRESPASS* . Now it's "forgive is our DEBTS, and those DEBTORS against us"! If you deny this, pick your Bible up now! And confirm! It's in ALL Bibles! If you want to know what the hell this phenomenon is called, just ask. Again, this is not a joke! I wouldn't have written all this for a stupid joke.

People say that but it's still not the heart of God. I've been hurt too and you need to forgive them for their sake as well so. It doesn't matter if you think they are a narcissist. I'm tired of people saying they have forgiven and yet still.hold.deep hurt. By you saying they don't deserve face to face forgiveness shows that you don't know God in this area yet. If they don't deserve that kind of forgiveness then you don't deserve it from God, which by the way He gives you despite that fact

Remember when Joseph saw his brothers after years he cried. That didn’t mean he didn’t forgive them. One thing you have to realise is that forgiving doesn’t make what the person did okay, we are humans and forgiving will never change the past but changes how you look at it. Hold onto God’s word, He will give you strength, do not hold onto what the person did.

Unforgivness is so hard for two reasons: 1.) When the other person doesn't apologize and acts like they did nothing wrong. They instead justify their wrong doings. 2. You might get depression from someone who hurt you and you end up making bad decisions that affect your life based on the pain that this person put you through, increasing the animosity and bitterness. Yes, you made those bad decisions but that person had a major influence that affected your thinking so you think that they should be held somewhat responsible.

Ive learned three additional things i havent seen written anywhere ● I look at their hyrtfulness as a disability...something theyve been unable so far to overcome and get rid of ● Forgiving isnt saying the hurter is right, or that we are weak; its telling Jesus and others that His cross is enough ● Not everyone who thinks they are ssved is a real CHRISRian...they might only know Bible facts and say and do "the right things" but their soul may not truly be saved ... Is he/she really a "new creature in Christ"? Are the 'fruits of the Spirit" evident in him/her? Galatians 5:22, 23 "love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" Only GOD can know, but we can see these qualities ... or not If not, they desperately need Him. ASAP. And prayer. And people to lovingly (caring about their eternity) go to them...even if their religious pride might be offended. There is no such thing as Purgatory in His Bible and no more 'chances' once we're dead. Praying

I did pray for you just now, 1/20/21. I see it's been a year since you made this post. How are you doing now? Also, I want to say "to all" that what I did was just start saying out loud to the person, "I forgive you for [blank]." I didn't mean it, but I wanted to mean it so I said it. They skipped over it and wouldn't "accept" my forgiveness, not believing they did anything. Now I just say it in my spirit, and I pray for them and do good to them. Now I do mean it, I truly forgive them, but there is no reconciliation because they do not acknowledge their sin. They don't think they did anything (they lie about it and everything else, too) and in fact, they blame me for the one big lie that started everything and make up weird things about it and me and twist everything up so that it would exhaust me to unravel them and show them the truth. That's their game. They want to wear me out and shut me down and shut me up. Their life is utter chaos and confusion and they do it to keep from facing the truth about themselves, which is that they are a sinner in need of a Savior. Since Jesus forgave me for much of the same stuff as they are doing to me, I forgive them, as I must. In my case I repented of my ways, which is why I'm saved (2 Corinthians 7:10). The person I'm speaking of hasn't repented, but I still forgive them in case they do. I do my part. I try to imagine them saved and that helps and I also would not want them or anyone to go to hell, so I keep doing what God says to do. Because God works everything together for good to those who are called according to His purpose, the situation purifies ME. It causes ME to have patience and self-control and to abide in Jesus because there's no other way to survive. Also, "...Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." John 12:24. The situation necessitates that I die to self. This person is literally my cross and I carry this person on my back every day. In the meantime, if they never repent to God or me, I find a lot of comfort in this passage of scripture: "We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day." 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10

This is beautiful! I longed for reconciliation with my grandfather who I spoke out about as a child when he molested myself and younger cousins and siblings. I prayed for him as I was scared he would go to hell. As an adult, my husband encouraged me to go see him and talk as I so wanted to forgive and let go of the pain. He just said I'd made him a lonely old man and "the sun always shines on the righteous" in sarcasm. My husband quoted me the scripture about shaking the dust off your feet. It was painful. When my grandfather died he took it to the grave and all I could do was offer it all up to God and I got my peace from Holy Spirit and my saviour Jesus Christ. I realise I forgave and you are right Mark that reconciliation is not a command necessarily as I used to think.

Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. But we Must watch out for this: That we do not rejoice in their hurt as Father is dishing out their punishment or He may just stop and have Mercy. Agree, forgiveness and reconciliation are two different stories. When you forgive, it has nothing to do with befriending and trusting the person, and/or reconciling with them (if you were friendly with them before). That's a whole other ballgame. When you forgive, it may not change or help them. But it WILL change/help you.

Just say it. Say the words to him "I forgive you" and then go drink some tea. If he comes back at you with garble say "I forgive you" again. Do it 70x7. You can also say it in your spirit when saying it out loud would cause a fuss. You don't have to explain it, talk about it, feel it or want to do it. Just do it, like you would stitch up a wound without anesthesia if you had to, because you have to. Let God handle the healing. Your only responsibility is to do it: forgive others. Once you say it your prison doors open. Also consider that NOT saying it means you want to be in control of their damnation. Since that's likely not true, just say it and you will definitely gain peace. I know it's been a year since you made your comment. How are you doing?

Mark, I've been struggling with great unforgiveness and deep hatred for over 15 years. I've doubted my salvation because of it. I've watched countless sermons on anger, bitterness and unforgiveness and talked to many pastors with no results. It has hindered me greatly. I know this has damaged my walk with Christ in many ways. My sanctification would be light years ahead of what it is, if I could simply forgive the person that absolutely destroyed my life permanently. Your short video here is the closest I've ever come to forgiving. Thank you very much. Please pray for me.

Jennifer Jahns the first thing you should do is pray good blessings and health for your sister and pray to see if the timing is right. We are to be fully dependent on the lord. That means following his timing not our emotions. The second thing is if you forgive someone, you dint need to bring up the offense to them. If you are attempting to be reconciled. APOLOGIZE regardless of who is right or wrong. You dint tell someone hey u did this or that but I’m going to forgive you anyways. You simply forgive. That is pride. The lord sees everything. You pray to god to forgive that person for their offense to you. Then you pray good blessings for that person and good health. You follow gods rules. Not your emotions. Remember when Jesus said god forgive them because they know not what they do. Sometimes ppl offend us and that’s just how it is. Read and study how god forgave and you will know exactly what to do but I feel anytime u tell someone you did this and that. It’s going to be very poor start to any communication. What if she write you a letter and she said that to you. Hey u offended me but I’m going to forgive you anyways and talk to you now. What kind of approach is that to anything? It’s not Christian. If you forgive someone. You do it like when u were a child. You and ur best friend could have an argument when u were 5 years old and the next day it’s like it never even happened. That is true forgiveness if you want to be reconciled with your sister.

I'm SO happy to have heard this message. It's a completely different concept to forgive others because Jesus deserves it, and to relieve us of the burden of unforgiveness. Some things hurt SO much, but this shines a whole new light.... I can do this! TY Mark. ✝️💜

I love that as an atheist I can still access all the wisdom religions have on emotional intelligence. I searched up "forgiving others" and I got exactly what I wanted. Thank you, this video is much appreciated.

I wanna say thank u listening to this made me emotional.. something happened to me and i was struggling to get over it.. now I'm gonna try harder. I don't know if I will ever trust or feel the same way about this person but I do know I'm going to try my hardest with prayers and meditation to forgive him. So thank u so much

Im grateful for your explanation and comparison of reconciliation and forgiveness. Sometimes relationships or friendships are irretrievably broken and need to remain in the past. Especially if they keep offending over and over, and there is no real evidence of Lord Jesus' love in their life.

Lord help me forgive people who were supposedly members of my "family." One stole from me my prized possessions while I was sleeping and while he was in my house. The ones who pushed me around and bullied me while his parents did nothing. The ones who laughed at me and never really treated my Mother and I like real family. My brother who blamed me for doing something really serious that I did not do which was found out that I truly didn't do it. For all the bosses who harassed me, being racist, and accusing me for lazy. The people that I tried to be kind to but they disliked me for it instead. For all the people who took my kindness and punished me for it. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Thank you for your preaching! That is true. Forgiveness doesn't mean we tolerate crime. We should not love crime or tolerate sins.
