I prefer the MiG-29 airframe than the Su-27SM to be honest, I think in theory Su-27 should be a God of Maneuver but its a silly bus that cannot even stay on line, because he keeps turning to left by himself. But at least have 12 missiles.

These variants are older than the MiG-29SMT and would be a bit better in terms of maneuvering while retaining a good radar, upgraded rwr, and modern munitions. Plus the 9.15 and 9.31 can carry a total of 8 air to air missiles, which would fit better in the current meta. The 9.12S and or 9.13S/9.13M would have been a better pick to add before the the 9.17 (SMT)

2:10 No, the multipathing could only work when the ER was strong, now that the US main has an OP missile to use, there can't be any mechanics to make other planes work (its a joke). The multipathing could rise a few meters or return to the old height of 100m, the game would be much more bearable

Now it will be different because missiles coming from very high still damage/kill, it won’t be an IR META. Gaijin modeled the radars much better than when the 'Air Superiority' update came out. If the multipathing height increases, a FOX-3 will still hit you. The difference is that the fuse becomes a little more inaccurate. Like, look at the damage I took, the J-10 wasn’t even that high, and still, I could have easily died. This is what will always happen if the multipathing height increases: the game becomes more balanced, but aircraft that perform well at high altitudes are not necessarily harmed. BVR strong aircraft have the most advantage over others currently, and they will continue to dominate if nothing is done.

Fully agreed. That is why they are strangling SIM mode because it is more player dependent and less chaotic than ARB so you can have great results if you know what you are doing. Ofc there was some bots who abused the system, but instead of working on this problem they just punished everyone. Still SIM gives me much more emotions and joy of the game than ARB which is just a chaotic mess nowadays

I agree, it's intelligent, but it is also of bad nature. I would never, in my right mind, use my intelligence to deceive people. I believe Gaijin could use intelligence for good things, making a great game, not offering products that range from excellent to horrible just to induce people to buy a new package. There are many games making a ton of money by putting in the effort in a good way (Black Myth: Wukong, Stellar Blade, etc...), catering to what the public wants, but I see a certain ignorance in the community and a difficulty in seeing this. I want to change that, I don’t want to see War Thunder die in a bad way.

Honestly I'm kinda glad that the multipath height is only 50m now since I absolutely hated the IR meta that developed with the 100m mark - planes that relied on their loadout rather than performance were basically unplayable and a somewhat decent Gripen player was basically immortal... I hate to say it but top tier rn is probably in it's most balanced state since a long time.

Multipathing seems not to work a lot of times for aim120, but works pretty much all the time for my r77. Lanched 3 r77 at 3 targets from above and they were all less than 15 km from me, I launched them above mach 1.1 and none connected with the target. From flight model to missiles it's just a rificulous clown circle.

The F-15 represented a greater threat to me than the F-16, and I knew I could have a chance to win a dogfight against the F-16, or simply evade. There were many options, many where I would survive against the F-16, and a few where I would die against the F-15. Essentially, it was a risk management decision.

You need to observe what's happening in front of you, are there a lot of high-altitude planes on the other side? Is your RWR looking like a high school party? All of these are conditions that help you come to that answer.

i think US top tier teams have degraded alot, many f15 players especially have no idea how to dogfight in top tier jets when they propably bombed their way to top tier in f4s and can barely manage a good launch for amraams. this has been very noticeable in sim, whenever im flying f15 i get also teamkilled quite alot by some random aim120, after a while i just couldnt take it anymore so now im flying red team all the time in gripen and su27 lol

Or they could just lower multi-pathing so that you can't actually abuse flying low to avoid missiles. Terrain masking, decoying, kinetically draining, or intercepting, should be the only ways to defeat modern missiles. This whole pushing people because missiles don't work when you fly X distance above the ground is so awful, and always has been.

In theory, that’s how it should work IRL, but you have to remember that we’re playing a game. Karma made it clear that he’s in favor of a balanced and enjoyable experience, not just for one plane but for all of them. The game can be enjoyable in a way that lets your skill make any aircraft’s gameplay worthwhile. Not only do I get his point, but I also agree. The way he explains things makes sense: either you have a 16v16 game with nerfed missiles and more evasion mechanics, or a 12v12 game with more accurate missiles. Plus, there are planes that are only effective at low altitude, as he mentioned. I don’t believe an F-18, Rafale, MiG-29, or Gripen would be great at high altitudes. This essentially restricts gameplay so that only a few planes perform well, like what’s happening now with the F-15. I doubt anyone will defend that stance when the Su-35 arrives with its R-37s. The game needs mechanics for us to defend ourselves, because at the end of the day, it’s just a game meant for winning, losing, and fighting to survive.

If they truly wanted this game balanced, then all missiles would perform the same. There are plenty of unrealistic aspects of the game. To have some missiles just perform better than others is just asking for this disaster that is top tier. This has been clear since sparrows vs r27er. If everyone has a similar range and capabilities, then the only factor would be skill and flight model performance differences(FM only matters in engagements where you can not defeat the missile without notching). We have battle-ratings that offer good missiles and evasion mechanics. To insinuate that you can't win/lose/survive because missiles can track you on the deck is imo disingenuous. This only lays ground for a lack of missile capability in the future. "Skill" will just be flying tree top level and shooting at anyone that isn't following suit, rather than learning BVR and BFM. It's okay if you don't agree, because I also think warthunder should be a game; however, I prefer more realism and actual skills/knowledge being employed.

@@Bad_Karma777 game doesn't become balance if you raise multi pathing at all since you then just have op ground huggers that dominate fights old school warthunder already showed it when they had the gripen and mig 29g. that meant all the other planes were irrelevant to say the least. whilst it makes for harder gameplay with current multipathing there is still a high chance of surviving a high altitude fox 3 shot whilst hugging terrain, you need to start cranking left and right constantly in order to send the missiles to the ground and you still can notch and chaff whilst on the ground too.
