Congrats on the start of new & exciting remodels! I’m glad to learn something new from you & still be entertained by the bloopers. 🤣 Btw give Koda a good boy head pat for being such an pawsome awesome construction supervisor!

I really enjoy your videos. They have such good information. My house is over 100 years old, so no telling what is hiding. A kitchen remodel is in the, hopefully, near future (after my husband completes the resto-mod of our 1956 Chevy pickup.) Today's outtakes made me chuckle.

You got lucky with that little bit of sag in the ceiling. Whenever a blade binds means you have some weight coming down, as you found out. Keep up the good work! Love the vids.

I genuinely dont like this old house tutorials. I think they overlook alot of different situations and can skip over a bunch without realizing.

When you were working on the opening I thought you were working with live wires 😮 since I didn't hear you say you'd isolated the power to those circuits. What I'd really like to know is how many hours do you spend just staring at the camera? 😂😂😂. You did fabulously well though!

When I did a header I used narrow vertical strips and left some gaps between the big boards to let me put electrical through them as I had to reroute some Romex.
@SpringRubber2 ай бұрын
I think I know what you did because I just encountered it in a header I recently removed from a 2x4 wall: instead of using a full width of 1/2" plywood for the middle of the sandwich, the original framer used approx 4 inch wide strips of 1/2 plywood and put those spacers on approx 16 inch centers across the header, which left some wide gaps. I have no idea if that's ok by code but it seems like a wise use of material AND gives a channel to run romex thru the center of the header.

The location of your new door makes the most sense, but I probably would have made installed the door on the other wall so I didn’t have to mess with moving electrical. 😂

The bloopers are the BEST Excellent video and info!!! Bro and others... do yourselves a BIG favor and maybe start thinking about ear protection! I'm 62... had 'normal' hearing most of my life but now have 70% hearing loss and tinnitus that is 100% unbearable. Likely causes... shotgun shooting as a kid, Zeppelin, The Who & Foghat on 10 as a teen, nail guns, compressors, chop saws, jack hammers, grinders, power presses, four slides and woman as an adult. All while never wearing ear protection. Keeping our eyes is good too.

To Matt of the past, there aren’t any pipes in there. It went well. Just thought you’d like to know. You should still record as much as you can. It seems like this house is probably gonna be around awhile and that this might be the house your kids grow up in. Personally I loved the remodels start to finish.
