Can you tell me the purpose of flaming the letter before spraying the paint? Thanks for the video

I have one question. Why did you torch the recesses for the lettering before spray painting them? Was that for additional weather proofing? I like the video, by the way. Thanks.

I’m guessing it’s to get rid of any bits of chips or dust that would later fall away and leave white flecks in the black lettering?

Hi Walter, Bruce A hit the nail on the head with his response, I torch the letters after I carve them because it gets rid of any of the little fuzzies that may be left behind from routing... It really does do a great job of cleaning them out before either filling with resin, ink or paint... It's just one of those things that I have always done to make life easier on myself 😃 You ever have any more questions feel free to ask, I'm always happy to help when I can!

Lousy as I am at doing that with a router it would end up saying ‘Ginny’s Garbage’!

LMAO... They didn't look all that good when I started doing them way back when either... Just takes a lot of practice... and using a fine point to line them out makes it easier too, then I go back and clean out the field with a bigger bit... I'm working on another in depth video, more of a "how to" that I will get posted as soon as I get it done... Keep an eye out for it...
