Ok im a beginner with really long hair that gets tangled at the end , you make it look so easy yet so glam..........do you know any ways to keep the bottoms untangled?

+Raquel Shaw I know what you mean. The first thing would be to address the reasons for the tangling. If it's been longer than 3 months since your last trim, you are going to see tangling. Also, using a quality shampoo and conditioner really helps. And, sometimes, putting a small amount of a silicone based shine serum on the midshaft and ends can help add slip to the hair so you have less tangling. If your hair is naturally curly or wavy, you could lightly blow dry it with a paddle brush just to stretch the curls a bit and decrease tangling. Shayna Daljit Sedeora I'm no expert but if you ever want to do any type of braid on short hair o would say a French or Dutch braid would be best because you aren't technically really with all the hair at once.

i still can't do it :( i have layered short hair that goes down to my shoulders and i have trouble adding to the braid. just in general i wish i could even just do a regular braid but i can't even do that right. thanks for the tutorial tho, even if it didn't help.

+noods if you are struggling with a standard braid, I would recommend you watching my video on overhand braiding, before even attempting this technique again. Once you feel comfortable with overhand braiding, THEN come back and check out this video. It works much better that way. 😊

I know this video is pretty old. Like okay I finally learned how to share the hair but the grip part is a little difficult for me. Because my hand gets tired and I get lost in my hair due to the fact that you can't really see when I start cause my hair is really dark. Anything that can help with the grip and me getting lost? Also if I do, do it right then after that it starts going like down instead of going like behind my ear. Anything I could do to help improve with keeping it in place so that it rests over my shoulder? I would love for some feedback. Thank you for reading this

+Melissa Perez when I am braiding my own hair and my arms get tired, I usually sit down and put my head between my legs. Changing the angle of my arms like that causes the burning to stop long enough to allow my arms to rest. As far as the grip, I would say slow down a little but, but keep in mind it will get easier the more you do it. If you can't easily see what you are doing, talk yourself through the pattern, so you remember the steps, instead of relying on seeing what needs to come next.
