First time applying chameleon tint on the front windscreen. Transforms the full car seeing a subtle blue. Everything is still clear when driving, does not effect the vision at all.
I didn’t have a bulldozer tool for the tight areas but sometimes we have to make do with what we have got 💪
The size of the tint is 1.5mx1.5m

Hi mate, when cutting the final shape around the window and the sensors, how do you know that you wont cut in to the windscreen glass and cause damage? i want to give this a go but dont want to mark the outside of the window with the knife. cheers
@ShaksWD
@ShaksWD Жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, The glass won’t get marked when cutting out the shape, glass is very tough. Remember to always work with a fresh blade so it’s sharp enough to cut through the film without applying too much pressure, that’s usually when you’ll mark the glass by working with a blunt blade and too much pressure being applied because it’s not properly cutting through the film. I encourage you to give it a go! 😊

Why do you apply the wrap to the inside out of interest? Seems to me on the outside it'd provide protection from stone chips etc on the glass? Nice vid, helpful, thanks.
@ShaksWD
@ShaksWD 2 ай бұрын
Tint always goes on the inside as wiper blades can easily scratch it but you can get specific protection film where it’s much more stronger for the windscreen where it gets installed on the outside. Thanks for tuning in 😊

@ShaksWD
@ShaksWD Жыл бұрын
Hi Samuel. I haven’t measured the final VLT, the film is rated at about 82% and by looking at it after the install I reckon about 75%-80% is my guess. It’s very subtle and I haven’t had any problems driving past the traffics and VOSA plenty of times. It’s a great film to work with and very easy to shrink

@@ShaksWD ok cool. The vid helped loads, I've done back and side windows but in a way I think the front window will be easier than the rear as it's flatter surface to work on, also I haven't got my mirror built into the window (suzuki swift mk3) so should be simple hopefully. Thanks again 👍

Which side of the material you lay on the glass liner or film side?
@ShaksWD
@ShaksWD 2 жыл бұрын
When shrinking the film to conform to the shape of the glass, always liner side up. When it’s time to install on the inside you peel the liner side away and spray your slip solution to the adhesive and put it onto the glass and squeegee out all the solution. you really shrink the screen like that? jheeee i saw quite a few creases XD i bet the customer was really happy with that!
@ShaksWD
@ShaksWD 9 ай бұрын
I was wet shrinking the film outdoors incase a slight wind catches it and creasing the film when attempting a dry shrink. There wasn’t any crease marks when finished? This was on my personal car as this was my first attempt and surprising it went down well. If I wasn’t happy seeing any creases, bubbles or dust, I would’ve ripped it off and started again
@LifeBeingWilson
@LifeBeingWilson 9 ай бұрын
@ShaksWD as a tint fitter myself, i dont understand why you would even attempt it outside, also there was definitely a crease bottom passenger side of the screen, which was mostly cut off when trimming to size, but half was left in the window in plain view, i know what a crease looks like 🤣 also once tinted the camera wont show it but definitely will see it in person
@ShaksWD
@ShaksWD 9 ай бұрын
@@LifeBeingWilson I get you! Yes there was crease before cutting to shape, but luckily it was past the dotted matrix so that doesn’t matter 😁 but can you kindly point out at what time frame you have noticed the crease that I was cutting where I left half of it on? the challenges we have in life if you don’t have an outdoor space. I can do a KZbin shorts on the full windscreen? But goes to show a first timer can attempt it themselves 😊 I’m not a tinter but know the basics (love to learn) but not being able to have my own indoor space can be a pain when working against the Scottish weather elements and I respect the trade you’re in.
