Do you know how many items one can upgrade each week with all the resource caps? I heard that especially the higher tiers are insane in terms of resources needed. Does that mean you can only upgrade like one piece after a week of farming (if at all)? This new way of gearing seems just so complicated and artificially dragged out, I was actually going to subscribe for a few months (or even longer) but seeing all these weird changes I guess I'll just subscribe for one month to unlock the expansions and then play through them. I'm not really up for a complicated and streched-out gear grind, I have already done enough of those in other games.

I wouldn't overthink it tbh. Just play the way you normally do and in no time you'll have the best gear available.

I know this is controversial, but I LOVED the gearing method from 5.10. It was so easy for me, that I didn't run OPs unless I didn't need any of the gear that would drop.

Other than the restructuring of weeklies and dailies they don’t really lock you out of any content that other MMOs don’t. You can only get Ops gear once a week. I think this is to give the game more parity and require people to invest more time. While it sucks for some, I’m looking forward to being to be play the game for longer before being “done”.

An expansion in swtor is the equivalent to a patch in final fantasy. If they had enough new content to keep us occupied instead of turning it into a gear grind expansion then I wouldn't be complaining.

@@Ray-yp3tb I can get behind that mindset. I think a cool compromise would be a way to include events with the gear grind. Never done hard core endgame in SWTOR. But I am excited to give it a whirl in 7.0 following all the Blizz drama.

I have 16 characters at level 75, played each story twice with a different class. I miss the individual storyline but due to the lack of investment in that sort of thing I understand why the are now doing a generic storyline. Less money for voice actors and animations.

I agree. Way more difficult than it needs to be. Not sure what/why made them make these changes. It's like when Galactic seasons came out, it felt more like work than playing a game. Being forced to do certain content for gear is not something I'm wanting to do. It shouldn't concern the developers how people play the game to get what they're looking for. If some people want to do OPs or pvp, good for them.

is the new story content in 7.0 at or below rating 306 or have we got to lvl up item rating before doing the new story?

it sounds like you can do the new story content in 306 gear. It should drop gear from item rating 308-318, but your 306 gear might still be better than what you get for a while.

Helpful guide but I just spent the entire time watching this thinking ugh why, this sounds so annoying, frustrating and boring. The old system was fine, you could grind how you wanted to, it might have been slower but at least it was enjoyable, I didn't like how galactic seasons did this but at least that was a side thing so it was fine but doing the same thing to the core game is just idiotic, it also means that doing the open world heroics are going to be really annoying because they'll be flooded with players (which is why I avoided those worlds when they were on galactic seasons weeklies, this will just be worse). I'm just not even going to try to grind, I'll get armour when I get it, I'm just not interested in this nonsense and I'd rather just have rubbish armour.

I really enjoyed that part about the onslaught expansion. Almost everything drops the gear you want as an end game player. I loved the flexibility of playing any content I wanted.

The answer is always "it depends" but you will need to have fully augmented gear and over 300 item rating for the easier ones.

I don't think BioWare has properly thought this out. They still have all the same requirements as before for activity finder and role setting, but you can't swap anymore from one spec to another, so if you q as a dual role, it's only to fool group finder now (not because you can do both roles)

I don't think I have much that is currently geared towards returning players, the main video I have is for new players and then I have videos that are kind of just a random splattering of information. Definitely hope to one day make some more content around helping players get back into the game after a break.

So i can get to 326 by just doing conquest but i can only get to 324 by doing vet fps that's weird and if i want higher gear than 326 i need to do mm fps which gives 328 and 330 or just 328 gear

only gear that currently goes above 326 is mm ops, up to 330 gear. When 7.1 launches the new operation will also drop gear over 326 item rating.

I plan to make a video on how to max out item rating in the near future, it will cover how to grind up to 330 gear from operations by mixing multiple gear paths. The simple idea is that you can move horizontally to other gear paths by playing that content.

As long as you ignore the fact that SM ops aren't easier than Vet FP and Conquest gear path isn't easier than either of those two options... also, just ignore the fact that mmfp are not the same difficulty as veteran operations.

I enjoy uprisings, although not as much since they increased the "difficulty" of them. They are actually pretty neat, but the extra health pools on the bosses is a real time suck now, not to mention they took out some of the trash, which was my favourite part.
