This is very important to understand as snap benefits have just changed as of a couple days ago and these benefits go out to roughly 43000,000 Beneficiaries. You can always try a tiny fan that barely blows air from the direction of the camera that sits in the front of your camera . That’s what we do for my dad . He loves it that way works great for him as long as it’s a very small breeze from the fan . Thank you for helping us all the way you have your the bees knees . Your income must be more than what qualifies you for more stamps than just $23 and your rent must be on the low end otherwise you would be getting alot more than $23.

Hey Delores, did anything change for you? I am also in Michigan. I was getting and approved for $236, but then they changed it to $63 a week later. I am 61 and on SSI. I lived in subsidized housing. Rent is $275 and I make $943 a month plus $42 every three months. I know people that live here make the same amount and pay the same in rent and are getting over $200. Talking to a worker is an ordeal. I was on the phone for over two hours. I was told they made a mistake with my utilities. I don't pay any so they were calculating with me paying utilities.

What if a person is applying for disability but hasn't been approved yet? Are they considered able bodied? Just because the government hasn't granted the decision yet doesn't make the disability non existent

You are able bodied until a judge from social security says you are disabled. So if you are 52 or younger you have to meet the work requirement .which would suck because then social security will rule you not disabled. So just go to food banks and not use foodstamps until after you are found disabled.

Trisha, contact your Department of Human Resource and let them no how many of your dependents live under your roof. If you have split custody, that may be why or if you're getting child support could be the reason. Good luck.

good Matt ! lots are confused. also I would like to point out your birthday will have a affect when changes are made. it is what age will you be at the time of change. will be hard for some with just a 1 month window because a birthday is the last day of a month . any time any DR puts you out of work for any reason you are exempt from any work requirements. this may be short term. can be a bad cold or broken arm . this makes you exempt even if short term. it is just a form DR filles out. can very state to state. in NY we have FMLA days . using them makes you exempt for SNAP work requirements. Family Medical Leave Act. not all stats have this and may be called different. so in NY if you take care of a ill family member and use FMLA with DR . that form makes you exempt from SNAP work requirements. this 80 hours a month does not apply.
