First strike will get nerf next patch. First gold 15>10 and bonus dmg from 8>7, they literally change first strike, then nerf it, and now it is worse than before and will be the worst rune in game

There's some fun strats with kayn top, you can go full inting sion with it and do an inting kayn strat, proxy all game, run tp and smite (to help with killing canon minions) and just don't interact with your top laner, they will get more kills, but if they decide to go kill you you can try to execute and if you fail at doing so you'll at least probably get a flash or just waste thir time and make them lose farm, you will also make the enemy jungler and mid laner, sometimes even the support lose time to go try and kill you, as you're a kayn you're very slippery and can really make them waste 1 or 2 minutes just chasing you giving a lot of prio around the map, as top lane is always under minion wave pressure the top laner can't leave to gank other lanes, not to mention if the enemy top laner doesn't have good wave clear they will have to either tank wave or farm under turret in the early game Once you're over the 20 minute mark you can buy your smite item as the penalty for farming waves is removed and your jungler should have lvl 3 smite, so just clear their camps and enemy jungler camps, if the game reaches 30mins plus you're basically a second jungler and if you pick red form you're one of the best 1v1 champions in the game if you build lethality, really fun strat The runes are first strike, magical footwear, either time tonic or triple tonic would work well and cosmic insight, as secondary take resolve, demolish and I think it's overgrowth As your minion wave is always pushing try to force plates once the tower is low enough to get some with demolish There were games that I was 0/13 in the start of mid game and ended the game like 19/15, it's a pretty fun playstyle if you go into it knowing that you will die a lot early game, but that also means you will always have a pretty big cs lead on your laner, also, at some point you're worth as much as a canon minion, so it's really not worth for the enemy to go chase your kill, which makes it even better Final tip, just follow bausen's law, I think it's you can't die as often starting level 8 due to respawn timers, by that time you should have profane hydra, which should be your first item rush, which means you can insta push regular waves and insta push canon waves with smite

i unironically have a better win rate as kayn top vs kayn jungle. idk it just feels so natural for me in the top lane.

Many people don't know how strong Kayn is on lvl 1 and it usually leads to them being overconfident and they give a first blood. It happens very often when I play Kayn top.

U should have went to proxy on lvl 2 after u made daruis low and the wave under tower

i got to 200 LP with kayn top almost exclusively kayn * fiora / morde here and there depending on my team draft * and i must say it is quite strong if you have good wave management but i do believe you should go resolve tree instead of domination. i think domination got heavily nerfed with removal of ingenious and sudden impact not being OP as fk. you also cant stack your hunter rune that quickly from topside and it is very easy to get just as much gold value if not more with demolish and perhaps revitalize or overgrowth

also kayn top with ignite can solo kill 90% of champs if you take conq if they walk up to the wave, or you can basically force a 2 wave crash proxy cheater back or look into enemy jg to kill them. always makes low master players mad af
