When I started I knew the bare minimum I would like to thank this man before making this video I used all his videos as reference when I started (5years ago). Thanks for these videos, Jim! They're helping me focus on the next steps to take as I want to get more into cabling. I'm currently a facilities intern in Vermont, and got to work with a senior network engineer that was volunteering some time for the non-profit I'm working at, and it was the first time I realized that cabling is the perfect combination of hands-on construction-like work and technology, and I've been looking for that merger for the past couple years. I certainly appreciate videos like this that provide such valuable information, and I really look forward to watching more!

Your videos have been so helpful. I got some experience, I work for a service delivery company and I manage these types of jobs, but I don't get paid nearly enough for it. The techs are getting more money than me and I've decided I want to try to get my foot in the door. I have some tools but your vids have helped me figure out what else I need and what will help save time

Is cabling to physically demanding? I'm 48 and I wonder if I will be able to handle it. I've worked as a system admin and tech support. But never as a cabling tech. Been in server rooms and installed switches and routers but never done cabling. Another question is do I need a license as a low voltage cable installer Thanks

What if a customer has pests and/or snakes in their homes?

You have to ask the customer if the pets can be put in a container or a cage where they cannot get out and cause problems. If that's not possible I would not do the work.
