@@BorderlessCommerce we actually live in gz too! haha. the baiyun district. and yes, we attended the 仕馨月子中心 for the first 4 weeks. although we did most of the caring ourselves, the treatments my wife had were very beneficial. For a local chinese its probably pretty normal, but i, as a foreigner (british born chinese) was like wow, this is awesome.

If you have a French or Serbian citizen with your country driving licence you can go to district traffic police headquarters and they will grant you a full driving licence without having to pass any test. It may take a full day and you may have to explain the law to the local officer as this is not exactly a common procedure. Most likely they will make few calls with their hierarchy to make sure of that.

Thanks for the clarification. Didn't know that with specific country license. Rules change alot and this video was taken over 2 years ago. Glad is getting easier for foreigners to get their license here. Safe driving.

Hello, I’m only planning on being in China for a few weeks. I want to do a trip in my RV around the world. I’d be entering from Qingdao, at the ferry and exiting in Nepal. How would I get a temporary licence at the Qingdao Ferry Dock and would I need anything extra since I’m crossing China in many provinces?

expat survival The only problem in that the Incheon-Qingdao ferry is by cargo container to transport vehicles and I don't know if I can leave the vehicle unattended once it’s off the boat, because I would have to leave to go get the licence. Also, I saw on many websites that I need a tour guide in my car while I’m driving in China and a temporary licence plate for each province I pass threw. I also saw that I need a special guide for the Tibet Province which I will be passing threw. I’m also Canadian, and because of the recent emprisonnent of 2 Canadian tourists, should I be concerned?

Hey, I am going to China this year and I am looking to rent a car over there. Do you know if the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has a traffic police department to do the Provisional Chinese driver’s license?

There was an update since this video. Beijing has the area to get the temporary license there. Not so sure for Guangzhou, but you can go to GZ motor vehicle department and apply there. Note! If you get a provisional license, it will only last as long as your visa and can only be used for rental cars. Can't be driving other people's cars. If you do the test and get the real license, you can drive any car for 6 years.

This you would have to double check at the department of motor vehicles. I personally don't see an issue with it, as long as you can prove it is a valid license, but please verify with the department of motor vehicles to make sure.
