Unless you have naturally wavy/curly hair you’ll have some trouble achieving his look. For the cut you’ll need to keep the sides and back short and have a hairstylist layer your hair. Also have them remove some weight from your hair with some shears if you have thicker hair to help achieve more volume. Then just follow the video as normal. You don’t really need to add product because the towel drying method and scrunching will add the most texture and then just blow dry it. If you are having even more trouble try getting a round, circular comb to flip the hairs at the front while you’re blow drying your hair and the rub your fingers through the flips the comb makes in your hair to separate the hair and get the messy look James has in this video.

after a little while of not using shampoo (or possibly conditioner) your hair starts to acclimate to it and it will get naturally wavy/curly in a week or 2. can personally attest to this. obviously clean your hair tho with water and a scrub. i do still use conditioner

I shower at night with conditioner on the days that I don't use shampoo, and then when I wake up I rinse my hair and do what he does in the video. The point of using conditioner at night lets my hair get all of that grease out of my hair so that when I wake up it's ready.

Stop using cheap shampoo, your hair gets tangled and stuck together when using off brand shampoo. I fixed this for not showering for 5 days and then when I showered under water I dramatically frizzled my hair under cold then hot water for 5 minutes cold, 5 minutes hot, then when I dried I shaked my hair as much as I could with my towel until I got eboy hair status 😊 coming from a thick haired brown boy, this is how you make your hair thinner
