That was a great tutorial. I have recently inherited all of my late fathers wood planes. I know how to use them but i didn't know how to sharpen them as my father always did that. Some of these planes have been passed down through 4 or more generations of my family and i didn't want to mess them up. I also inherited all of my fathers sharpening stones and honing guides so i will give it a go. Thanks for clearing up all the questions I had in my mind. I now have the knowledge and confidence to sharpen these 100+ year old plane irons. Thank you

I'm very glad that you came to youtube since i refuse to use tiktok and i've would have missed your content entirely, because you have become instantly one of my favourite social media person! You are just so real and about that old timey life. My best mate is also a "time traveller", and he is such a humble and great friend, very much like you strike to me. It's just the best way of life, hate the hectic nature of todays world. I hope you all the best, greetings from the north! 🙂🇫🇮

Love the videos Eoin. I think a box of flat caps with the brand pint of plane on the back will sell well at the ploughing championships.

Well after watching many demos on YT for sharpening tools, (and having a meltdown) I happened upon this tutorial. Talk about an informative and plain educational content, why isn't all uploads like this😊. To be honest it's probably an Irish thing, straight talk and no time wasting. Thank you very much.

Love your videos and love all the information you bring to the videos too. Everytime I watch a video from you, it's like I'm finding woodworking all over again. Keep up the amazing content, we need it. Especially on the hand tools, very good seeing hand tools being used nowadays. Not better, but, puts you on a closer level with your project. More of yourself, in the making of it

I love your content! I am in love with the beauty of wood working though I’m not sure I’d have the patience to ever do it myself or the skill. How did you get into it? Also your country is so beautiful your lucky to get to wake up there every day. It’s on my top 5 list of places I want to visit one day

Like any skill it's just a lot of practise, that you have interest is a good start. With KZbin you'll have pretty quick resources for any question you'll run into. My first couple tries at boxes were absolute disasters. Now they're something friends and family are pretty excited to receive. Just remember, you don't need expensive power tools - anything can be done by hand, just more slowly.

I loved your video! Thanks so much. I have louvre doors I'm using for my closet. I'm installing them with flush hinges. I don't want to go back to the carpenter I paid to cut a 1/2 inch 1.27 cm off for me. I was disappointed. I'm thinking, I'll buy a hand plane and shave 3 to 4 mm off myself. I am a lady, I can be handy, I used a hand plane years ago, I believe I can do it well. It's too tight on the frame not 100% straight, it's too tight mid doors to the bottom. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and for what Hand Plane and size I should buy? My doors are real wood 78 inches long 198.12cm

Hey Eoin, I don't know how active you still are on KZbin, but there seems to be someone reposting all of your TikTok content under a "pintofplane" KZbin account. A short posted there got a few killing views which is how I found out about it. Sad to hear the channel I followed appears to be a fake one, but happy you exist here nonetheless!
