Luckily I bought a JZX100 last year! I was meant to drive it through all of Japan and unfortunately it was 2 weeks before covid got bad which got our flights cancelled. Car has been waiting there since. :( I literally got into sim drifting 2 months ago and welded my own rig as well! Anyway, I'm having the greatest time in Assetto with the Rift S as well, how about some tandem sessions?!

for assetto the thing I will recommend the most would be Content manager and CSP (custom shaders patch), it'll quite literally change everything and there are tons of videos on how to set it up. Have fun man

Once you get used to drifting in vr In a sim rig you'll never think about screens again I ran 3 screens got vr tried it no longer use 3 screens for drifting/racing/flying etc. Your going to love it big time 👌

bro you should use WDTS cars in AC most realistic car pack, if you need it, i run a team with some mates called StyleBangers we also make our own cars im sure you will see them eventually will we gladly help you show you the rope of AC and i dont mean just drifting i mean setting up servers cars settings etc! we love seeing irl drifters come to AC and we always bring warm welcomes and offer help. dont need to say yes just happy to see you joining the community

Old mate missed out on a few of the differences in gx to jzx, different brakes, single bush rear subframe, smaller diff, tourer s is the same issues but in manual have a w55 not a 154.

If you ever wanna upgrade Cockpit check out an aluminium cockpit I just brought one from Track racer and love it! Other companies make them as well but the Trackrace tr160 was the easiest to get my hand on.

Mill out some aluminum sheets and make some flat side support modified V or L shaped brackets. Then you could just drill holes and bolt the things on the gaming rig frame's sides. Rig looks like epic fun.

You are definitely going to need the quick release for your steering wheel. Without it, the handbrake will strike the rim of the Nardi wheel. Wherever Japonic goes in the USA, I hope he takes his cars with him. May is being such a good sport because she is going to be all over your gaming rig while you're away!

7:09 uh-uh, you got an Altezza 7.5 diff in there whereas a JZX would have a 8inch diff. YMMV when you put some big boy power through that diff.

IS300 diff and axles are same as JZX 8". JZX101 and Tourer S also had 8".

all you have to do is flip the inside mounts to the outside of the seat bracket on the sim rig and the seat will fit... i know this because i had the same one before upgrading to a legit GT Omega sim rig

tip for your sim rig the nardi wheel gonna be bigger then the steering wheel now and it looks like your handbrake lever is pretty near to it. i guess with the nardi your handbrake will hit the steering wheel^^

If you make a diagonal cross base for the two arms that go up to the steering wheel it will make a massive difference.

This is what we do in Sri Lanka. Convert GX to JZX. You need complete 1jzgte vvti engine, Harness, ecu and a gear box etc. Rear cradle is the same but diff missing a Ring (you need to weld that) GX axles are thinner diff is different but rest of the arms can be used but rear LCA dosent have a sway bar support point. So you need to change that with a jzx arm. Prop shaft needs to be changed. And Interior is black with carbon trim in JZX. Also you need JZX center console with handbrake (cus GX come with footbrake) Nothings major. Its possible and a lot cheaper. Cheers. 🍻

I found a 1996 Mark II for sale with 46000 km and the USD price is $34000 compared to a GX with much lesser mileage only going for $9900 USD. Also Manual is like way higher in price versus an automatic. Only learned about the Chaser, Mark II and Cresta for about a year now and only wish I knew of them sooner. So nice but getting out of reach for me.

Just be weary if you are not mechanically inclined or have savings for shop work. Not saying it's a *BAD* idea to finance a +25yr old car (depends on specifics) but it *IS* a 25+ year old car. Plastics, rubber bushings, trim + seals, etc all deteriorate over time, wether the car is daily driven or parked in a garage and never driven. Just expect/plan on having to work on it, and possibly (probably) having to wait longer and pay more for your parts. You *CAN* find sorted imports but they're always alot more obviously. Something an aquaintence of mine failed to take into consideration, now he has a really pretty garage ornament and no 2nd reliable daily saving up again... lol
