My shiny catching secrets that weren’t mentioned in this video: 1) pay attention to weather boosts as it also boosts the odds for shiny. 2) make sure the first one you tap on for the day has a shiny variation as I’ve caught numerous shiny as my first catch of the day. 3) if you caught a shiny remember it’s spawn location as your odds of getting another shiny (even of a different species) is going to be higher at that one spawn point.

You know, just 3 weeks ago as I was going to a doctors´ appointment, I was playing pokemon go. And as I waited, two pokemon showed up, a Minun and a Zigzagoon. I caught the Minun, but then I stood there and I didn't click on Zigzagoon because it´s honestly a boring pokemon and I didn't need it. The funny thing is, I was just thinking of the chance of that one Zigzagoon being a shiny and that I would never know if I didn't click on it, but after two minutes had gone by and it still wasn't gone I decided it wouldn't matter anyway and I clicked. It was a shiny. Never before have I been that happy to get a damn Zigzagoon.

Similar thing happened to me with a Meditite. I saw it and since I already had evolved it i didnt catch it but then I thought wait i want the gold medal for the fighting pokemon so i clicked on it and it was shiny, i didnt even know it could be shiny, never been that happy to get a meditite either haha

Pro tip: if you want to hatch eggs, turn on adventure sync, turn off the app (not the phone) and run on a treadmill. It's not only beneficial to saving distance traveled and it's good for your cardio! (3 miles is 5 km)

I have made tiny victories and caught a shiny eevee from research, an eevee with the flowers on its head which randomly spawned (evolved into jolteon) and caught a random shiny castform in the wild. Ive caught/hatched/traded like 12 shinies shiny swablu now evolved (which was also my first swablu), a shiny beldum now metagross, 2 shiny magikarp 1 now a garydoss, 1 shiny haunter now gengar, 1 shiny meowth, 3 shiny porygons 1 for each evo, 1 shiny dodrio, 1 shiny treeco (sorry if its spelt wrong), 1 shiny wailmer, and 1 shiny ash hat pikachu now raichu. Most are from community days, but swablu, meowth, treeco, dodrio, wailmer, and pikachu are all not from them. (My personal favorite is metagross.

Thanks! I don't hunt shiny's. I just wondered how you get them. Im only level 21. and hard to play during teen. But my library has two stops and a gym one block away. And whenever we HAVE to go anywhere I turn the game on for the egg hatching. You where very informative! thank you.

Look in your settings there's a thing in there to click so it will keep track of your steps even when you don't have the game open.
