watch other videos then you will be able to think about a File Manager that i used and also adb shell i got connected via .. all can be done in many other ways too, you can use dc unlocker ,putty , total commander or any emulator you want or even any adb shell for executing commands, for example if you are not tech savvy guy and no android sdk installed in your pc then simply you can also use small package of Platform tools for communicating with you modem device with adb connect and mostly adb commands works in it just like the same way you do it with your mobile phone .

salluhassan Thanks but that's not really an answer. I have a shell on the device. I've been poking around. I've made my own mods to the webUI and installed some additional packages for busybox. But there doesn't seem to be any way to run AT commands through the shell. The only way I can find it by enabling the diag COM port and connecting to that using putty/DC unlcoker which isn't practical. I saw some modems have a program called LTEAT installed which lets them perform AT commands , but the e5573s-320 firmware doesn't include that app.

Gadget Addict there is embeded operating system and other components of modem which is stored in one of the section of modem flash memory and for huawei e5573s its in mtd11, and what you really want most is to communicate via modem device , so you get to linux console( telnet through adb ,or through a shell) , its that simple. but if you use debug mode then you have the option to access device via different interfaces , in some devices shell-c is used to get responses from embeded OS so these are for different purposes and you can connect rasberry pi device to your modem if you are guru of linux and strong grip over scripting languages too , these diag port also one of them .. but question is what you wanna do ? also i like to add some more info is that some of the AT commands doesn't work if you unable to unlock DATALock, what we need OEM code for that .anyhow i don't wanna get into more complexity, definatly not the right platform here, but i use a lot of adb shell commands that works pretty much ok

i was so much irritated by changing dns from pc all the time, this i tried to change it in the modem device permanently via adb push command simple adb connect 192.168.8.1:5555 adb remount adb shell if busybox [ ! -f /system/bin/dhcps.real ];then busybox cp -p /system/bin/dhcps /system/bin/dhcps.real;fi adb push dhcps /system/bin adb shell chmod 775 /system/bin/dhcps adb reboot --------- its done now and when i use busybox in one of my android device i always compile it thoroughly so to make sure whether the specific command work or not , so don't upgrade version of busybox in your enterprise device because there is already included compiled version of busybox in it so no need to upgrade unless and unless you want a specific syntax command in it

salluhassan Thanks but I think you're still missing the point. I understand the OS, I understand the modem. The question is quite simply, is it possible to send AT^ commands through the android OS that's built in. Instead of putting the modem into debug mode and sending it over the COM port.

yes but it needs to be a Pro in understanding of How Huawei File Systems Works in Embedded Systems , and obviously have strong grip over Android and Scripting language e.t.c. ....

Assalamu Alaykom How are you my brother? I am Mohammed from Makkah I need some help if you can I will be so thankful I have Huawei E5577s-932, which is new generated hi silica modem like E5573 This modem is locked on (STC) carrier, I tried to unlocked it but i couldn't. after many tries, I got the Unlocked code and OEM code from your NewSalluV4CalculatorUpdated by enter the FTM mode (at^sfm=1) I tried to change the Webui but I coudn't. Then, I see this video, and applied all steps and finally I backup my webui and replaced it by original huawei webui which i got it from my friend. The problem now is when i insert a sim of another carrier, the modem ask me to enter the unlock code, but the attempts was zero. I tried ( at^maxlcktms = 10 ) .. it sayed OK, but actually no changed occured. and I tried to find the file which is responsible of attempts by surfing the modem files from Total Commander but I couldn't.. So Could you please help me to reset the attempts to 10? Sorry for my bad english. Thank you
