Excellent point regarding printing out online materials. I think the reason this is the way to go is because you can engage an additional "sense" (tactile) while learning, which will create stronger memories. At the end of a quarter, one can drop all that into recycling, so there's no guilt needed about printing a lot of pages.

In history class I would draw out little clip arts about what we were studying. And I applied it to all of my classes. I ended up raising my GPA up one point up. This method of color coding helps you kind of memorize and really grasp what you learned. So what your doing isn't really weird just really effective and different from how others learn

Same. My professor sucks! I’ve learned some concepts by reading the text on my own (eg Rate laws/expressions) and could definitely have explained it better. No one understood wtf he was talking about until maybe the 5th example. Now that i know it, i realize its really an easy concept to explain

I’m a freshman in high school and am looking to dual enroll in general college chem... but I’ve heard it one of the hardest and I haven’t taken normal chem (I’m in bio this year) what’s your input?
@MEDforyou3 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason you have to enroll in a college course so early? What are the benefits of that? Genuinely asking bc back in my days, freshmen werent introduced to any college classes. I personally think it’s best to just take chemistry at the level of HS freshman, esp if you have never been exposed to it. It’s worthwhile to create a solid foundation so you can build upon it with AP chem, college chem 1&2 etc. Sometimes it’s about learning how to study for certain subjects throughout the process too- But this is just my opinion!

Actually thank you so much for this. I was a corpsman in the Navy for six years and then left so I could pursue medicine at a higher level. Was rocking straights A’s until I hit gen chem when I transferred to my private school, failed hardcore. Was pretty discouraged and almost gave up just because of that, but I’m confident I can come back with a better approach and succeed. I almost let one bad experience with gen chem deviate me from my path!

Wow, thank you for this! A prep course on how to properly study and pass college classes should be mandatory IMO. I’m gonna implement some of this and see if it works. Btw, do you save your notes after you’re done with the course?

I know I’m 4yrs late to this video, but thank you so much for this! I just started Gen Chem I in my first semester at a university transferring from community college, and compared to community college this is like drinking from a fire hose. So much so fast and up until now I never needed to worry too much about good note taking and study tactics cuz my associate was technical focused. I’m definitely not gonna be able to get away with that now. SO MUCH ANXIETY!! Heading over to your other videos!
@MEDforyou3 жыл бұрын
Drinking from a fire hose is a very common phrase in the medical community. One step at a time.... try to ask yourself, “what is one thing I can accomplish for sure today?” Instead of thinking of gazillion things that need to be done. I have to remind myself of this often too - but dont let fear stop you from even starting.

WHY DID U TAKE CHEMISTRY ITS THE WORST CLASS
@welcometomyrandomness20733 жыл бұрын
I have a habit of making a huge list of what I need to do, being satisfied and excited to be productive, and then inevitably becoming too overwhelmed even by the thought and end up getting nothing done. Going to college this fall and I’m a little afraid since I know myself very well. I’m always up for a challenge but whether or not I accomplish it is very questionable.

Hello, I am a high school senior student. I have my SAT in 2 months, my APs in 4 months, CLEP in 5 months, board exams in 4 months and one subject test in 4 months. ( i gave one subject test and got 800, and 1400 in SAT but will give again.) My board is an indian board (CBSE). i was wondering, should i give AS and A level in 3 subjects in june? I am pretty sure I already know a lot of syllabus as it overlaps from other tests but I am still unsure and very confused. Do tell please....
