Your methods and using a small scale actually worked. I got both Mr Knight and Moon Knight from the same trip and found them very quickly after weighing 15+ boxes at my local ASDA. I looked crazy weighing the boxes but I’d rather look stupid than be stupid and waste money on figures I don’t want.

Depends on how accurate the fruit scale is. The boxes only weight a few grams. Most fruit is sold in pounds or kilograms.

That was the only time they did something like that and it was few years ago when that series came out, but who knows they could do it again... It appears that it's not prohibited for them to do...

LEGO should do a number system. I know Mattel has a number system for their Cars Mini Racers mystery boxes, where the last two numbers corresponding with a different character. And a friend of mine said Mega Construx has something like that too for their Halo stuff.

The codes on the boxes more likely are related to the manufacturing of the boxes. Millions of these boxes are printed using multiple printing presses. So if there’s an issue with the UPC’s or spelling it can be isolated to one press or another etc. I work in a printing with a dozen presses.

The scales worked wonders. Got a box of 30, needed 10, weight them all and managed to get the 10. There were slight weight discrepancies (I am assuming glue) but pretty close. So happy. Thanks for sharing. 😊

The european boxes are different than the american boxes . Just2good did a review where he unboxed a full european box and the first figures were the same as you pulled : Agatha and Wolverine . So the american box has a different position where the characters are to europe .

Went in and perfectly found She Hulk and Agatha Harkness with the scale method. On She Hulk also combined it with the shake method so I didn’t pick up Beast. It makes it fun to use these proven techniques.

The top line of numbers on each box is a manufacturing code, which simply indicates the date and location of manufacture, not the contents. I do wonder, however, whether the QR code may be a unique identification for factory use.

Lego should drop the mystery of these and just straight up sell them without that. Maybe do like a 3 pack, since some figures like Goliath aren’t really desirable on their own so pairing them up with Wolverine is like a better choice but I was never nostalgic for the mystery aspect of the bags nor the boxes. I think it’s a scam since, even with hacks, you still don’t know what you’re gonna get. U could say it’s part of the fun but think of kids saving up lunch money to get figures they didn’t want

Honestly, if they're gonna switch to boxes and make it impossible for casual lego fans to figure out what figure they're getting, they should just put the name of the character inside on the box. The only reason the blind bags worked is cause it was still possible to determine what you're getting, but if it's not, it's basically a gamble and a lot of people won't like that...

The reason the virtual stuff is so predatory is parents buy the game for the kid and have no idea that there are in game transactions that don't simply run out of stock. There are ZERO people that buy card packs or mystery boxes accidentally and you still end up with a physical item with monetary value after its opened. Whether that item was worth the mystery box price is up to the person buying it (in most cases its not) but its not the same type of gambling that the UK is dropping the hammer on.

Nice weed scales each full box has codes for all of them three of each unique to that box . Some boxes have more glue and some have security stickers that make the box weigh more .

Ashnflash, the code method looked helpful, but to get it straight, we have to see the minifigures' code each, see what their code is, and once we go to the Lego store, we can grab them just that easy? So we don't suffer in having a repeated one in case there won't be a box of 36. In fact, can you tell us each character's code in a different video? If not, it's ok. I'll figure it out in this helpful video.

The codes can be helpful if you buy all your minifigures from a single case of 36, but they won't be useful between boxes in different cases.

to solve the weight issue. Measure all 36 empty boxes with a seaed manual inside and calculate the median which is the sum of a weights divided by the qty of boxes. Measure then the weight of each individual figure, write them up in a list. Get sealed packs remove the average box with pamphlet weight we calculated earlier and compare numbers. This method is not perfect but it certainly more reliable than any other guesswork solutions

Lego just need to label who you’re getting, I’ve been at several Walmart and had seen mystery bags rip at the edges looking for certain ones. It’s not right, but they created this problem. No one wants the same figure over and over, trying to chase a certain figure. Now the box is going to be rip as well.
