Getting around Portugal was so easy! There's no way it could go wrong with empanadas and pastel de nata along the way 😎

Hey guys! Just to let you know that I am in Albufeira at the moment and your HOW TO GET AROUND PORTUGAL (buses & trains) video was so helpful. I skipped the train and used buses and Uber. Everything going well so far and it’s been fantastic. Thanks for helping me out 🙏 💛

02:45 Long haul trains are much more expensive in Portugal but they're also much, much better compared to the buses - they have great seat, restaurants and bars inside, bathrooms, better views and you also spend much less time compared to the time you spend on the bus (3h in train instead of 4h30min in the bus). I already did several times the train from Pragal to Faro and it's great, however I don't advise you to do the line from Lisbon to the West because it's under reconstruction these days (it was almost abandoned in the last decades, unfortunatelly) and it passes far away from Nazaré, without a decent connection to the major cities.

oh wow those trains sound incredible!!! We'll definitely give it a try next time :) Thanks so much for sharing this info for other travelers to see as well. For us, it was more about budget restrictions hahaha

@@waysoftheworld_ Also there are different train services: Intercidades and Alfa Pendular. Alfa Pendular is pretty much like a plane and it's literally the premium long-haul service, whereas Intercidades is much more reasonable - it's good but not top-notch. Here is the difference shown by Superalbs Travels: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5CyeZR_i8qVmJo [Alfa Pendular] kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKKamWdjpdRshLs [Intercidades]

Did you know that Portugal has an inexpensive "go-everywhere" ticket for as many days as you select, AND the days don't have to be consecutive (i.e. you can have days-off).

You didn't show how you booked your tickets for the train, or did I miss that part?

www.cp.pt/passageiros/en/buy-tickets or you can buy at the station from kiosks, or from an aggregator like omio.com

WHAT?! A bus station that smells like pee?!! I guess at home or away some things never change🤷🏻♂️ Looked like a relatively painless travel day. Thanks friends👏🏻🙏✌️🤙🍻

Except that, most likely, the smell of "pee" wasn't pee but rather the smell of the river at low tide. That bus terminal is right beside the Tejo (Tagus), and some people, apparently, cannot tell the difference between wee and rotting seaweed.
@waysoftheworld_2 жыл бұрын
It was clearly pee. We saw pee on the walls and floor.

hahaha it's all part of it :) Travel days in Portugal were so easy breezy and filled with delicious empadas! I (Aimara) did not miss any travel days from the past hahaha 😂

I very much doubt that - here's why. Locals travelling to work every day can't afford to run about in taxis. My experience, in Europe all transportation is well linked. BUT, and it's a big but, if you use English speaking apps, of-course they're going to put in "taxis" everywhere. You need to be able to read the local timetables, and I always do it in advance BEFORE I arrive at wherever, in fact before I set off, in the first place.
