In my opinion, everything said between songs should point to Jesus and not ourselves. I try to have a connection of all the songs in a set, leading the worshiper on a journey of worshiping Him. So the transitions should be as smooth as possible. It does take a lot of thought, prayer and preparation, including the Holy Spirit's direction. He already knows who will be there in the room, and where they are spiritually. Worship is a beautiful thing!!

There was a lot more fluff in this video than I expected. Suggestions were good but, how about some clips from your worship service and show us how you do it? That would be better to watch and see your commentary about what was spot on and what needed to be improved.

Lol, just steal hillsong. I still use them as the gold standard for leading the congregation into worship.

Spend a little time in secret prayer and yapping between songs will take care of itself. You shouldn't approach anything about worship from an intellectual perspective but purely a spiritual one.

These kinds of comments always make me curious… Do you think that pastors should not approach their messages from an intellectual perspective either? Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean when you say that. To me it suggests we shouldn’t prepare what we are going to say in advance. And I just cannot agree with that.

thank you for being such a blessing to me and thru me to my team and church friends and family and to my church. you gave me so mutch motivation to prosseed and evolve. I just want to let you know a beat of how you blessed me and that i obviously thank God for you. Some yars ago my fellowa leaders spent over those 2 minutes preaching so the pastor call us all and said something like "i dont want you to preach, I want you to sing, play your instrument and if od lead you to minister to the church. but not preaching, that will come next". even though I understand that at th time listening that 3 or 4 times in a year made me question myself and unconsciently stop ministering. I satrted to be more intencional on the songs i chose and other stuff to over come this issue. then waching you talking about it some time ago made me realise that. Problem now was I wasant confortable on doing that anymore. that frase you just repeat resonate inside me so much that I literally wrote almost all my words to minister during the week. at that time you said something like " who is limiting God the most me prepearing stuff in advance and being sensible during the week or "you" who only seek God or only let God speeak thru you on sunday?

Great video and tips on a topic that can be hard to get your head around. I 100% agree that personal stories help make things relatable and add context. I do like to have a direction and also leave a little room to feel “prompted” both in musical direction and with what to say / pray into the moment. This year I’ve started a “worship journal”, to document and work on the direction of the worship for the week and the song choice. I’m also recording feedback and my reflections after each week, and hopefully that’ll help with my progress too.

Most worship leaders can barely pray in front of the church and personal stories often don't go over well. Maybe leave up to the pros. That's why they do it well. They are in concerts all the time.
