iirc capping your fps can help with stuttering issues and input lag also if you dont want ur computer to sound like a jet engine you should cap fps in the menu.

I run a 3060 ryzen 7 5800x, your fps definintely shouldnt be that low I get 70-80 fps (my cpu wont be why im getting more frames since it is bottlenecked by my 3060). something must be wrong but im not sure.

@@Nisenziart yeah, this video is getting a little outdated, but at the time I uploaded this, I was told that hardware acceleration could cause issues while gaming, otherwise normally I would always recommend to keep it on. But im sure they’ve improved it by now, I’ll make another video here soon.

@@kradtfos i have a pretty high end pc, have no issues running any and all games at around 100 fps easy, but rust just keeps getting worse every year somehow, for example warthunder on movie settings with ultra HQ textures stable 100avg fps, battlefield games smooth fps as well. Rust , 90-100 first few minutes, then drops to 60 for no reason, my cpu and gpu not being used for more than 20-40% and ram is not a problem.... And the hardware accel setting has absolutely no difference for me so idk anymore. People with shittier cpus have more fps than me in rust

Why if i have a 3070, and a amd 5800 H, I still having 50 fps, and sometimes 9 fps... when i started playing, like a week ago, the game was smooth. ( with the same fps, 50 ( but with no lag spykes. ( I played on Ultra, and Potato, and doesn't change a thing. ._. )

There’s a few things that could be causing you issues, it really lies between you using an ssd or hdd/how much ram you have/ if your updates & drivers are up to date. Another thing I found for a lot of people, is that they try to play rust with no space left on their local drive & it causes lag and crashing. Try to have like 30-40mb free space or more on your ssd/hdd.

@@chese69420it takes load of the CPU and utilizes the GPU. So it’s reducing the overhead. Meaning the CPU works faster. RUST uses a lot of the CPU so you want that extra clearing
