This is the first of many videos showing how my mind works as I'm playing XDefiant. In future episodes we will slow and break things down more and I will try to get better at vocalising my thoughts as I play... I didn't realise how hard it is!
Hopefully you can learn from this and understand what sort of things you need to try and be aware of to implement into your own games to improve over time!

I want to make this into a series where I explain my thoughts as I play. I found this pretty difficult as most of the thoughts I have during the game and what I react to and decide is automatic but being conscious of my thoughts and verbalising them was interesting... Mannn I’ve got crazy ADHD so I’ve played pretty mindless my whole FPS career, still did aight I won some GBs, got top rank in bo2-WW2. But I recently got it under control and being able to really think about what is going on on the map is such a huge thing. My biggest tips are these: 1. Find your settings, settings are key. 2. Move around the map in a way that you always have some sort of cover 3. Centering (having your crosshairs in the center of the screen, or where you think they’d be) 4. Try to predict where they’d be based on your past games, this is something that comes with time for sure. I’m only level 60, only have about 40 hours played, but just being able to predict breaks (first spawn of the game) is so satisfying ying

Yes this was great. I have more of a passive aggressive/keep the same spawn kind of playstyle so it was really nice seeing something a little more aggressive with a SMG with explanations. These videos will help a lot of people improve including yourself! Also, one thing I didn’t see you mention that I like to do is throw the EMP just for information even if I don’t plan on right away looking down that lane, if it shows that I tag someone though, I will push to get that pick.

It will 100% help me improve but I'm hoping that it will be beneficial to others who want to understand how many thoughts and factors go into each decision in game. The little things I'm aware of whether it's audio, visual or just general awareness! Definitely will keep going with this series and maybe even try some post com explanations for a more slow analysis vibe! Yeah I also do that too sometimes with the EMP but rarely as most of the time I like to keep my EMP in my pocket in case a Phantom chucks down a wall on the point! That wall is the bane of my life 🤣

Good idea! Keep practicing. I realize this is hard, but you did good for a first try! You seemed to struggle a bit with what to do about the riot shield. The EMP disables it. If he get in close, you can melee him too. Also, I havent really tested this, but they say there is no player colition when they use riot shield, so you can run through him and get him in the back that way.

Yeah playing the game is very easy lmao but playing + vocalising my thoughts is definitely going to take some practice but I enjoyed doing this! I will have to test that out with the EMP on the riot shield as can't say I've noticed it before and have definitely EMP'd some riot shield guys🤔 I usually just run away OR I back up away from them until they drop the shield 🤣 Thanks so much for watching mate!

Take every corner like there’s someone there, you get better by knowing when you don’t need to do that

Not really in this game considering the audio isn't great, if you prepare yourself then you'll rarely be surprised. Doesn't mean you need to slow down and take the corners slow, I play at full speed but just with that high level of awareness! Might not work for some so if you don't feel the need to then thats great!

@@BlackBoye advice for those who are building awareness so they don’t just run into bullets. I don’t mean preaim every corner, but center on a hotspot before you jump out, and even sometimes preemptively tapping ads. I know I’m locked in when I’m predicting pre-firing

Sometimes you call out multiple enemies with nothing visible in FOV or minimap. 3:25 You called that 2 enemies were approaching from corridor to left. Nether enemy was visible at the time and I coudn't see anything on the minimap. Did you just hear them both? What am I missing?

I heard footsteps on my left and thought I heard 2, hence why I said it. However when I swung the corner there was only 1 there so, either I mistook 1 set of footsteps for 2 sets OR there was a second person and he moved while I was shooting the first 2 people across the hall from me and I didn't hear it over the gunfire

I have a 2 kd but The aiming feels weird for me some games my shot is on and some games I can’t hit anything it feels like I can’t make micro adjustments when I move my right stick any help?

If you haven't then I suggest you checking out my settings video but what helped me is taking the aim assist follow and strength down just a little - which is in the video too! It is really hard to micro adjust in this game but Linear and a little bit of playing around with the aim assist values can help 👌❤
